GET Free Books Newbury Our mission is to make reading free and available to all through our FREE Bookshops! Our mission is to make reading free and available to all.

At the Global Educational Trust we believe that the ability to read is the cornerstone of educational success and a love of reading will last a life-time yet almost 1 billion people entered the 21st Century unable to read a book or sign their own name. In the UK:

• 3.87 million children do not own a single b

ook
• 4 million children live in poverty

At the Global Educational Trust, we believe that education and literacy skills help individuals lead a happy and successful life, and needless to say, provide the opportunity for people to become leaders, pioneers and visionaries which is ultimately beneficial to us all. We aim to make reading free and available to all by distributing FREE Books into society. As a registered charity we rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you. We really need your help!

Our Charity the Global Educational Trust also known as GET Free Books is coming to 81/82 Northbrook St in the old Superdrug, Newbury and we are hoping to be able to open by the end of September but we really need volunteers.

We need your time. We need volunteers to be there to accept our books, that we have ready to go. We need help preparing the shop for opening and setting up the bookshop and once we open we need volunteers to take care of our shop so we can enable bringing preloved books to the community.

Once we are open anybody can come in and browse the shop and choose up to three Free Books per person per day and take them home to keep. We do have a donation pot but that is purely optional, it is bringing the books to the community that is most important to us. You can keep the books, you can re donate the books at a later date, the choice is completely yours.

We really need volunteers to make this happen. We need at least 2 volunteers to enable us to open, a knowledge of books is not essential, you can help sort out books or be a person out the front talking to customers, you can be an artist who likes to do the windows or somebody who likes to clean. It all helps. If you can help out an hour or two or a few days a week, every hour adds up to another day we can open.

We hear in so many new locations that it sounds "Too good to be true!"

If you want to check us out, Google us! You will find us as a registered charity since 2011. You can find us on official government charity pages. We started off as Free Book Stalls and then became pop up Free Bookshops as temporary tenants until the landlord is in need of the building again and hopefully we can find another empty building in the same town. Some towns we have been in 5 years+. You will find our website but you will find the most up to date on the location of our shops on our Central page Global Educational Trust Bookshops - GET Free Books and you can also visit our other shops or have a look at some of our pages and see what our customers think of their local GET shop like GET Free Books Sale Stanley Square, GET Free Books Ipswich and many more.

If you think that you would like to volunteer at our new Newbury shop please get in touch or ask us questions if you want to know more. For volunteering please email us by putting Newbury Volunteer in the header and email [email protected] and one of our team at Head Office will be in touch.

You could help bring happiness to so many with just a few hours of your time.

We hope to see you soon GET Free Books Newbury. You can make this happen! If you you wish to visit one of our shops before hand you can visit us in High Wycombe or Slough.

Thank you ever so much
