We have got a lot of Easter activities happening over the half term, we do need people to pre book & pay in advance due to getting in the correct amount of materials.

‼️🚨📣 SATURDAY 7th MARCH 2026 has 2 events available, both supporting Charities! ❤️🚨‼️

☀️🌤️ In the day… ⛅️☀️

⚔️ Its the Earl Rivers Regiment of Foote’s Annual 17th Century Day at Shaw House! ⚔️

🎉🎉🎉 FREE ENTRY TO THE HOUSE, GARDENS & EVENT! 🎉🎉🎉

🛡️⚔️ We have an action packed day lined up for you! Bring the whole family, we have something there for all ages!! ⚔️🛡️

🎟️ Including a raffle to help raise the much needed vital funds to keep the regiment going for our educational displays, equipment upkeep and community outreach. 🎟️

🤞🏼 Please, please can you help with a raffle donation? 🤞🏼

‼️ Tickets can only be sold on the day of the event, we are not able to pre-sell before the event. Tickets will be sold at £1 a strip, or 3 strips for £2. 🩵 ‼️

🕚 The timetable for the day is below. ⏰

Please note, we will do our best to keep the day running smoothly to these times. 🙂

🌿🌹 10am ~ Shaw House Gardens open. Drill practice for the army.

🥚🍞 11am ~ Living History opens in the house.

🕯️ 11.30am ~ Rememberance Service.

🎶 🎻12pm ~ Music and dancing starts upstairs in the house.

👦🏼👧🏻12pm ~ Kids’ Pike, followed by adults Pike demonstrations.

🥪🍰🫖☕️ 12.30 ~ Break for lunch. Teas, coffees, sandwiches, cakes all available in the Coffee shop.

✨ Please note! ✨

The food you will see being prepared by re-enactors will not be available for purchase or tested by the public.
You are very welcome to bring a picnic for the gardens (Weather depending) or the cafe has a wonderful selection of sandwiches & cake. 🧁 (Especially the Victoria Sponge 🍰)

🎭 1.45pm ~ A scenario in Living History in The Great Hall.

🗡️🛡️ 2pm ~ Talk about Weapons & Armour
Also Sword practice/fighting & pike demonstrations.

⚔️ 2.30pm ~ The Second Battle of Newbury – Assault on Shaw House.
📣💥 (PLEASE NOTE! Our Muskets will be firing. 💥
‼️ People with sensitive hearing, we strongly recommend using ear defenders/protection, please also bear in mind if you plan to bring along your dog.) 🐕 💥📣

⚖️ 3.30pm ~ Trial.

🎟️ 4pm ~ Raffle Draw. Tickets available to buy all day until 3.45pm.

📍 All demonstrations, battles etc will be outside unless advertised.

✨ Earl Rivers Regiment is part of The Sealed Knot, who is Charity Registered. Money raised from the raffle, will go towards the running of the regiment. ✨
