West Berkshire Work & Careers Fair

West Berkshire Work & Careers Fair Newbury College is proud to host the West Berkshire Work and Careers Fair, regarded as one of the largest of its kind staged locally.

Supported by The West Berkshire Skills and Enterprise Partnership and Newbury College, this event is aimed at bringing together local employers and job seekers of all ages and capabilities, across West Berkshire. The day is FREE to attend and will comprise of several streams of activity:

Approximately 40 local companies of all sizes and sectors (private, public and NFP) who have an active recruit

ment programme will be exhibiting, including many well known high street and brand names. As well as meeting potential employers, job seekers will have the opportunity to benefit from a programme of seminars, workshops and clinics delivered by local businesses and exhibiting organisations, covering topics that will help people:

• Understand how to be a better candidate through improved CV writing skills
• To make the right impression and build confidence when job seeking
• Learn more about opportunities in various sectors by listening to experts talk about what employers are looking for and what careers paths are possible
• Learn what’s involved in going into business for yourself
• Understand how training can improve your prospects
• Understand how working for a charity can give valuable work experience and enhance your CV

The event is suitable for people starting off in their career, those considering what further education to choose, people returning to work, those looking for a career change or considering starting their own business. This event is backed by local Newbury MP Richard Benyon who will be one of the speakers on the day.
