Fair Close is a warm, welcoming space for over‑65s offering in-house home-cooked meals, Meals on Wheels, activities, wellbeing support, Men’s Shed, trips & The Camellia Club for those with dementia. We are a friendly self funding charity offering delicious hot meals in the Centre, Meals on Wheels delivery 7 days a week and a welfare service for older people in Newbury and district.

We’re delighted to share that Fair Close has officially joined The Chatty Café Scheme — the UK’s leading non‑profit tackling loneliness and social isolation by creating simple, friendly spaces for people to connect.

Starting every Thursday morning, 10.30am–12pm, you’re warmly invited to pop into our Coffee Pot Café for a cuppa, a chat, and some good company.

This initiative fits perfectly with our ethos of Fun, Friendship and Food.

🌹 What’s On in June! 🌹We’ve got a great month ahead, filled with activities to keep everyone entertained and connected.🟦 Mondays: Start the week with our Games Morning, in the afternoon it is Movie Mondays 🟩 Tuesdays: Join us in the morning for chair exercise and then we have our popular afternoon Prize Bingo — always a fun session with plenty of laughs.🟧 Wednesdays: Crafts in the morning and, a roast dinner for lunch and then, Singing for Fun with Daniela on 3rd June. 🟦 Thursdays: Join us for our general knowledge quiz. 🟩 Fridays: Start your morning with our uplifting Singing-for-fun, and then after lunch, Cash Bingo — always a brilliant way to end the week.
🟦Saturday 27th June, Big Bingo, 5.30 - 7pm. 8-page game all -in £10.🟧 Sundays – 7th & 14th June. We’re serving our delicious Sunday Roasts, open to the whole family. A perfect chance to enjoy a warm meal together. 🟩 Wednesday 9th, Themed Menu, 'Afternoon Tea', served from 12pm, with live entertainment from The Ukulele Band. 🟧Wednesday 24th, live entertainment with Mike Nova, singer

🌞 What a wonderful afternoon we had! The sun shone and the music rolled, creating the perfect atmosphere for a lovely get-together.

A big thank you to **Janey M** for coming to sing for us today—even in the very warm weather! 🎶 We truly appreciate your energy and dedication.

We may have been a little warm, but that didn’t stop us from raising our voices and joining in. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with fun and friendship. Thank you for bringing your hats too, which were great fun.

Here’s to afternoons like these—full of music and friends! 💛
