In 2024/25, one in eight UK armed forces personnel accessed military healthcare for mental health-related reasons, a powerful reminder that mental health challenges within the armed forces community are widespread and deserve proper attention and support.
For veterans in the justice system, access to appropriate mental health support can be even harder to come by. Their needs are often unrecognised, and the specialist support that could make a difference is not always available when it's needed most.
At Care after Combat, we work alongside veterans in the justice system to ensure they receive consistent, informed support, because no veteran should face their challenges alone.
