National Children's Air Ambulance Welcome to your local Air Ambulance Newark retail store where your buys help save lives. Shop, donate or volunteer to help keep us flying.

Two floors of preloved furniture, electrics and Bric-a-brac plus much more 💚🚁💚 Children’s Air Ambulance is an inter-hospital transfer service flying babies and children from one hospital to another for specialist care. We work with 10 NHS paediatric and neonatal retrieval teams across the UK, enabling them to bring their specialist equipment on board to safely transfer their patients from one hospital to another. With our ability to fly approximately four times faster than a land ambulance, we can minimise travel times and the risk for little patients. For more information visit childrensairambulance.org.uk

A specialist incubator transfer, completed in just 26 minutes 🚁

Recently, our G-CPTZ crew and Airdesk team worked with Clinical Partner Team Embrace to transfer a patient and their parent to York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The same journey would have taken an estimated 1 hour 44 minutes by road. By flying, the team helped the family reach specialist care much sooner.

A volunteering story with a very special ending 💚

When Matthew and Robyn joined our National Children's Air Ambulance Doncaster Superstore as volunteers in 2022, they were both initially quiet and nervous about stepping into a new environment. Over time, they found confidence, friendship and a real sense of belonging as part of the shop team.

As they got to know one another, a friendship grew into something more — and recently, we were delighted to hear that they got engaged! 💍

Matthew and Robyn’s story is a lovely reminder that volunteering can be about so much more than giving your time. It can create connections, build confidence and bring people together in unexpected ways.

Congratulations to you both from everyone at the National Children's Air Ambulance. We’re so pleased that you found each other, and we wish you every happiness for the future 💚

Two G-CPTZ missions. One day 🚁

Recently, our crew and Airdesk team completed two transfers alongside Clinical Partner Teams NWTS and KIDS.

First, working with NWTS, the team transferred a patient to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in just 30 minutes, compared with an estimated 1 hour 21 minutes by road.

Later that day, alongside KIDS, they transferred a patient and their parent to Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity in 42 minutes, instead of an estimated 2 hours 48 minutes by road.

Across the two missions, air travel saved just under three hours compared with travelling by road.

September was a busy month for the National Children's Air Ambulance 🚁

17 specialist transfers. 22 hospitals. An estimated 33 hours saved.

Our crews and Airdesk team completed 17 specialist transfers for critically ill babies and children, working alongside dedicated Clinical Partner Teams to help young patients access the specialist care they need.

Throughout the month, the service completed six incubator transfers and one specialist ECMO transfer. On nine occasions, a parent was also able to travel alongside their child.

Every transfer represents a child, a family and specialist teams working together when it matters most.

Two days. Two important journeys 🚁

Recently, our G-CPTZ crew and Airdesk team supported two patient transfers, with a parent travelling alongside their child on both flights.

Working with Clinical Partner Team Embrace, the team completed an incubator transfer to Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust in 1 hour 2 minutes.

The following day, alongside Clinical Partner Team NWTS, they transferred a patient and their parent to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in just 55 minutes.

Every mission relies on careful planning, close collaboration and the dedication of our crew, Airdesk team and clinical partners — helping families reach the specialist care they need.

Across the month, our amazing crews and Airdesk team completed 17 specialist transfers for critically ill babies and children, working alongside our dedicated Clinical Partner Teams.

September at a glance:

We’re getting ready to Go Together!

From 19–25 October, we’re joining communities across the country for Go Together Week in support of the Big Bases Appeal.

And we’d love our local community to get involved too.

Get your workplace, school, club, friends or family together and choose a day to Go Green for the National Children’s Air Ambulance.

You could dress up, hold a bake sale, organise a quiz or tombola, or come up with your own colourful fundraising idea.

It doesn’t have to be complicated, just bring people together, have some fun and help raise vital funds.

Thank you for all your support, we endeavour to keep you updated with posts throughout the week. Unfortunately the past week our social media team has had to have some time off or been busy because we have had quite a few people off due to being unwell.

As always you can call the store either by clicking the call button at the top of the page or calling (01636) 701204.

All items are first come first served, you can't reserve items by commenting on the posts. Unfortunately we have learnt that people may express a interest in a item then not complete the purchase we lose that sale and have turned other potential buyers away.

So if you really want an item either pop down to the store or you can call and pay by card. Again we endeavour to answer any messages as quickly as possible but we only have 2 people managing the page although we would love to we can't work everyday we need some time off.

So if your query needs answering quickly please call the store.

Two incubator transfers in one day 🚁

Recently, our G-NICU crew and Airdesk team worked with Clinical Partner Team SONeT to transfer a patient to University Hospitals Dorset in just 45 minutes, compared with 2 hours 2 minutes by road.

On the same day, our G-CPTZ crew and Airdesk team worked with Clinical Partner Team Embrace to transfer a patient and their parent to Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in 52 minutes, instead of 2 hours 47 minutes by road.

Together, these journeys saved over 3 hours compared with travelling by road.
