Newark Food Bank

Newark Food Bank Newark Foodbank provides a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis.

Between April 2020 and March 2021, Newark and Tuxford Foodbank provided 26,163 meals. Of the 2,907 people helped, 1,867 were adults and 1,040 were children. As well as Covid-19 issues, rising food and fuel prices, low wages, static incomes, underemployment and changes to benefits are some of the reasons why increasing numbers are being referred to foodbanks for emergency food.

Items we are short of this month are:-

🥩 Corned Beef
🍖 Tinned Ham
🍅 Pasta Sauces
🫛 Tinned Peas
🌽 Tinned Sweetcorn
🍅 Tinned Tomatoes
🥔 Tinned Potatoees
And
we urgently need clean, recycled strong large shopping bags..we are very short of these for packing our food parcels.

Please 🛒shop and 🫳drop any of the above in our collection points at Waitrose & Partners, Asda, Morrisons, any Lincolnshire Co-op stores, Onestop fernwood and other local One Stop Stores, any participating Church, School or WI Group, Beacon Hill Coop, The Coop Tuxford, Barnby Gate Surgery, The box at 6 Collinson Lane Fernwood and Hardy's Farndon

🍖🍗 Tinned meats (hot or cold serve)

Our volunteers will be at Waitrose & Partners Newark on Thurs 23rd April at 10am to 2pm collecting much needed items for our Foodbank. Please take a shopping list from one of us and drop a couple of items in our collection trollies outside. 🛒🫳🛒👏
