The CBMWC is part of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (WTSWW) and is the Trusts Living Seas hub. Current opening times: 7 days a week, 9am - 5pm.

Originally founded in 1996, CBMWC is dedicated to research, conservation and raising awareness of the marine life in Welsh waters. Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre, based in New Quay, west Wales is dedicated to raising awareness of the local marine environment in Cardigan Bay and the Irish Sea. The CBMWC was originally established in 1996 by members of the local community, run by a marine inter

est group of the local Wildlife Trust. From the 1st April 2015 the CBMWC became fully integrated into the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales (WTSWW) and delivers much of the Trusts Living Seas program of work as well as hosting the Living Seas Marine Team of staff and volunteers.

Earlier this week we conducted a seabird survey of Cardigan Island. 📝🏝️

We were monitoring razorbills, guillemots, fulmars and shags!🐧

👀 Weekly Sightings Update 🌊

🧑‍🤝‍🧑This week our volunteers carried out 35 surveys! 📝Dolphins were spotted daily. 🐬 Groups were observed foraging throughout the bay, often with gannets diving amongst the dolphins. 🦢 🐟

Yesterday we were joined by pupils from Haberdasher's Abraham Darby.👫🚌

The group carried out a survey and beach cleans. 🚮 They also conducted bottlenose dolphin photo ID and reviewed BRUVs footage. 🐬 📽️

👀 We spotted this great great northern diver on a boat survey at the end of May. 🦆 They are winter visitors to the UK but some stay into spring. 🌱 They breed in Greenland, Iceland and North America. 🐣
