📣Over the last couple of weeks there has been not one but TWO humpback whales in the Clyde!
🐋Our Scottish Officer Sally spotted them on the 13th August whilst out surveying on the Ardrossan to Brodick ferry as part of our partnership with CalMac Ferries. She said " I couldn't believe my eyes at first, if you had told little 8-year-old me that I would see a humpback whale at home then I absolutely would not have believed you! A real pinch me moment that I'll never forget! And these whales have now been hanging around for over two weeks which has been a real treat for people all around the Firth of Clyde."
📸One of the whales has been matched by Lyndsay McNeill, Scottish Humpback ID Project, as SCUK132 and was previously recorded in Russia, and near Sula Sgeir (Outer Hebrides) in 2023 and Loch Kishorn in December 2025. The second whale is yet to be identified but we are hoping we will be able to find a match in the coming weeks🍀
💡Who knows how long these whales will stay, but for now they are causing huge excitement and making lots of whale-watching dreams come true!💙
