The Friends are absolutely delighted that Ballard Water Meadow and Woodland have now been declared a Local Nature Reserve to be known as ‘Ballard Nature Reserve’. We have been hoping this would happen for many years!

Our Friends at Barton Common have been in touch to say that wood they have carefully stacked for wildlife is being stolen. If anyone sees this happening, can they please report it to New Milton Town Council on 01425 619120.
The volunteers spend many hours cutting and stacking the wood which should be allowed to break down naturally and offer habitat for invertebrates and fungi. By removing the wood, whoever is responsible, is upsetting the wildlife at Barton Common.
Please leave the wood in situ. Thank you.
