New Deer Public Hall theatre, film and music

We are a group of volunteers, part of New Deer Community Association, that promote and host public events in New Deer Public Hall in Aberdeenshire.

New Deer is a rural village in the centre of Buchan. The Public Hall was built over a hundred years ago and is still well used. The shows are all in the large hall upstairs. We have a stair lift and accessible toilets. We are part of the North East Arts Touring (NEAT) circuit and have presented some fantastic shows over the years. NEAT's funding makes it possible to bring these events to you.

Fleeman Productions return to New Deer Public Hall on Friday 3rd July 2026 with Charles Barron's comedy Skirlie.
Set in a school canteen something strange is boiling in the kitchens. We take the lid off the pot and you'll never feel the same way about school dinners again.
The fascinating characters include three dinner wifies whose combined skills barely qualify them to use a tin opener, that's if they could find one!
The teachers are more concerned with their private lives than the education of the pupils and a cleaner whose appearance causes some concern.
Add a catering supervisor to the menu and comic situations culminate in a surprising climax.

Adam Ross is an indie-folk songwriter based in north east Scotland. He is a solo artist and has also led the cult indie band Randolph's Leap for over a decade, releasing music with legendary Fife label Fence Records and Lost Map as well as Olive Grove Records and Fika Recordings. He is known for his unique brand of articulate lyricism which blends humour, poignancy, wordplay and offbeat stories
