The Wirral Coastal Walk gives you the chance to raise funds, from sponsors, for the Charity or good cause of your choice by walking 20KM along the beautiful Wirral coast line. Run down to the bottom of the timeline to find various useful links - more information, registration forms, route map etc.

💚 World Su***de Prevention Day 💚

Today is a reminder that conversations matter, support matters, and no one should face their darkest moments alone.

At this year's Wirral Coastal Walk, we met the incredible team from Paul's Place, who were walking to raise awareness of su***de and su***de bereavement, while helping to break down the stigma that can still surround these difficult conversations.

The team's support was remarkable. By the day of the walk they had already raised over £4,000, with a fantastic turnout of walkers coming together behind a cause that touches far too many families and communities.

Every su***de leaves a lasting impact on those left behind. Organisations like Paul's Place provide support, understanding and hope to people navigating grief, loss and difficult times.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we're proud to share their story and help spread their message:

💚 It's OK to ask for help.
💚 It's OK to support someone who is struggling.

💙 Supporting families every step of the way. 💙

It was wonderful to meet the team from Koala North West at this year's Wirral Coastal Walk.

Staff from Koala North West were joined by their own children as they took on the full 20km route to raise funds for the charity they are so passionate about.
For 26 years, Koala North West has been supporting families across our region, offering help from pregnancy through childhood and into young adulthood. Whether families need practical support, emotional guidance or help through challenging times, Koala is there to ensure they never have to face those journeys alone.

The team told us they have been taking part in the Wirral Coastal Walk for around 10 years, and they love supporting not only Koala, but also the Rotary volunteers who make the event possible each year.

Seeing the whole team commit to the full 20km was a fantastic example of their dedication to the families they support every day.

A huge thank you to everyone from Koala North West for everything you do for local families, and for being such valued supporters of the Wirral Coastal Walk. 💙

💙 Every step taken to help others walk more comfortably. 💙
One of the inspiring groups we met at this year's Wirral Coastal Walk was Gemma, Imogen, Amy and Colin, who were raising funds for the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
For Gemma and Imogen, the cause is deeply personal. Both have experienced hip dysplasia themselves, giving them first-hand understanding of the challenges the condition can bring.
Despite that, Gemma was taking on the full 20km route in her third Wirral Coastal Walk, while Imogen was making the most of the event's flexible format, choosing the distance that felt right for her on the day.
That's one of the things we love about the Wirral Coastal Walk. Whether you complete 6km, 12km or the full 20km, every step counts, and everyone can take part at their own pace.
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute works to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hip dysplasia around the world, helping children and adults achieve the best possible outcomes.

🧭 Helping today's Guides build tomorrow's adventures. 🧭
It was a pleasure to meet Nicki Mullin and the team from 2nd West Kirby Guides at this year's Wirral Coastal Walk.

The group took on the challenge to raise funds for an important improvement to their Guide headquarters – installing new fire doors to help keep their building safe for the many young people who use it each week.

Girl guiding gives girls the opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, make lifelong friendships and take on new challenges in a fun and supportive environment. Having safe, welcoming facilities is an important part of making that happen.

By taking part in the Wirral Coastal Walk, Nicki and the Guides are helping to ensure future generations can continue to enjoy everything Girlguiding has to offer.

🎭💙 Building confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging. 💙🎭

One of the most colourful groups at this year's Wirral Coastal Walk was the fantastic team from Next Chapter CIC – and it's easy to see why they went on to win our Best Fancy Dress Team award! 🏆

Based in Wallasey, Next Chapter CIC supports young people, parents, families and adults, helping them improve confidence, wellbeing and resilience through a range of activities and programmes.

The team were taking part in the walk to raise funds for their youth group, giving young people even more opportunities to shape activities, develop new skills and build lasting friendships.

What made their story particularly special was seeing the young people themselves taking part. The very people benefiting from the organisation's support were out on the route, challenging themselves and helping to raise funds for future members.

As Next Chapter explained, many of these young people will go on to become volunteer mentors themselves, supporting others and creating a cycle of encouragement, confidence and community.

Most of the team were taking on the 12km route, while a few of the more adventurous members had their sights set on the full 20km challenge!

Congratulations to everyone at Next Chapter CIC on winning Best Fancy Dress Team, and thank you for the incredible work you do in our community. 👏

💙 Walking to say thank you. 💙

Among the many inspiring stories from this year's Wirral Coastal Walk was that of Matthew, Annie and their dog Delilah, who took on the challenge in support of Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

Their reason for walking was their daughter, Bonnie.

Bonnie was born with a multicystic dysplastic kidney, and at just six months old, a scan revealed a tumour in her remaining healthy kidney. Since then, she has faced an incredible journey, including chemotherapy treatment, with the support of the amazing team at Alder Hey.

The family originally hoped to raise £250 as a way of saying thank you for the care Bonnie has received. By the day of the walk, they had already raised over £1,000 – a fantastic achievement and a testament to the support of their friends, family and community.

When asked if they had a message for the staff at Alder Hey, their answer was simple but heartfelt:

"A big thank you to everybody for everything."

It's easy to see why Alder Hey means so much to families across the region. Behind every fundraising page is a family whose lives have been touched by the dedication, compassion and expertise of its staff.

We wish Bonnie and her family all the very best for the future, and thank Matthew, Annie and Delilah for sharing their story with us. 💙

🏉 Growing the next generation through rugby. 🏉

One of the fantastic groups we met at this year's Wirral Coastal Walk was the team from Oldershaw Rugby Club – players, parents, supporters and, most importantly, plenty of enthusiastic young rugby players!

The group were taking part to raise funds for the club's junior section, helping ensure that more local children have the opportunity to get involved in rugby, build confidence, make friends and stay active.

Their story is a remarkable one. In just a few years, Oldershaw's junior section has grown from having very few young players to around 70 children regularly involved, with numbers reaching more than 80 at one point this season.

A huge amount of credit was given to their Director of Junior Rugby, Scott Fleming, whose passion and dedication have helped drive the club's revival and inspire a new generation of players.

The club's ambitions don't stop there. They're keen to continue growing participation and are particularly passionate about encouraging more girls to take up rugby and helping create dedicated girls' teams in the future.

And when asked how far they were planning to walk?

"The whole way!" came the enthusiastic reply. 💪

🦊 Walking for those without a voice. 🦊

One of the standout charity teams at this year's Wirral Coastal Walk was the fantastic group supporting Wirral Fox Rescue.

Wirral Fox Rescue works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and care for sick, injured and orphaned foxes across the region. Their dedicated volunteers provide vital support to animals in need, giving them the best possible chance of recovery and return to the wild.

The team brought plenty of energy, enthusiasm and creativity to the walk, earning the award for Best Charity Theme in our Fancy Dress Competition along the way! 🏆

It was wonderful to see so many people getting behind such a unique and worthwhile local cause.

Thank you to everyone who walked, fundraised and helped raise awareness for the amazing work carried out by Wirral Fox Rescue. 🦊💚

💙 Walking together and giving something back. 💙

One of the great things about the Wirral Coastal Walk is hearing the personal reasons why people choose to take part.

This year, Olivia and her friends from Heswall Ladies Circle were walking in support of Koala North West.

Koala North West has provided support to some of their members and their families over the years, and the group wanted to give something back by taking on the challenge together.

When we spoke at the start of the walk, Olivia and her team were full of enthusiasm and aiming to complete the full route to Thurstaston.

Their story is a wonderful reminder of the impact local charities have on people's lives and how communities come together to support the organisations that have supported them.

Thank you to Olivia and everyone from Heswall Ladies Circle for being part of our 40th Wirral Coastal Walk and for helping raise awareness for such a fantastic cause. 💙
