🚨 A Day in the Life of Female Ranger, Laura, in Namibia 🇳🇦

Some mornings begin at 4am in a tent, others in a vehicle deep in the bush. One day Laura is investigating elephant crop raids, the next she’s tracking injured wildlife, flying in helicopters, training rangers or helping families after wildlife tragedies along the Kavango River.

There are no fixed hours. No typical days. Sometimes she returns home at midnight, sometimes not until the following day.

As a Human-Wildlife Conflict Officer in Namibia, Laura works on the front line between people and wildlife, helping communities coexist with elephants, lions, hyenas and wild dogs while protecting both human lives and nature.

Outside of work, she recharges through painting, drawing and woodwork and stays connected to her family, especially her mother and her young nephew.b

“People often underestimate us. Women are incredibly resilient and fully capable of handling the physical and emotional demands of this work.”
