Today I made a sign for the Creative Hub! 🎨

I designed it, transferred the design onto wood, and cut it out 🪵🔨.

Now I’m (not very patiently 😅) waiting for the professional signwriting paints and brushes to arrive so I can bring it to life🎨🖌️

Can’t wait to see the finished result! 🙌✨

A little signwriting history while I wait: traditional hand-painted signs have been around for centuries, long before printers and vinyl graphics existed. Skilled signwriters would carefully letter shop fronts, pubs, theatres, and businesses by hand, turning everyday signs into works of art. 🎨🏪 Many of the techniques and tools used today are rooted in these historic crafts, keeping this creative tradition alive. ✨

Our founder, Cat, has always dreamed of learning the art of signwriting, and today she’s been practising on this beautiful swallow design! 🎨✨

Next on the agenda: mastering lettering, and investing in some professional signwriting paints and brushes to really hone her craft.

Cat has a real love for vintage fairground signs, with all their bold colours and charming hand-painted details. 🎠

Tonight we’ve been making resin chess pieces ♟️✨

We added loads of sparkly bits ✨💖 and pink colouring 🌸🎀. Can’t wait to see how they turn out 😍 We’ll be making the board next 🩷♟️ So exciting! ✨

From learning basic repairs to understanding essential DIY tasks, we’re committed to supporting women on their journey to safe, secure, and sustainable living.
