We were delighted to welcome the Movement To Work cohort from Nelson Jobcentre to spend some time with us as part of their placement. Department for Work and Pensions - DWP

As part of their visit, Shuey took the group over to SafeSpace in Nelson for a tour, giving them the chance to see another part of the support available locally. Thank you to Kasim for a very insightful tour!

After that, they headed over to Alexandra Lounge where they enjoyed playing snooker, pool and darts – giving them the full YES Hub experience! 🎱🎯

It was fantastic to spend time with the group and give them an insight into the different opportunities, spaces and support available through our services.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a great experience! 😊

This week we transitioned onto the indoor football pitch and the girls enjoyed a fantastic friendly game full of energy, teamwork and fun! 🙌⚽

A huge thank you to Lancashire Football Association, giving young women and girls the opportunity to take part, develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy football in a fun and supportive environment. 💜

Our young people had a great time enjoying the new facility and it was brilliant to see everyone having fun, catching up and trying out their skills. We loved being back and can't wait to do it all again next week!

We were pleased to welcome Nafisa from Smart Energy Hub, delivering the LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership) service, to speak with our young people about ways to reduce energy bills and make homes more energy efficient. 💡🏠

It was a great opportunity to learn more about simple changes that can help save money, improve energy efficiency and make homes more comfortable.

Nafisa will be visiting monthly, so if you’d like to chat with her, receive free energy advice, or find out more about how the LEAP service can help you make your home more energy efficient, please get in touch with us.

Today we had Riaz Employment Adviser from Nelson Job Centre at the Hub. Riaz spent time with our young people completing work experience interviews and helping to boost their employability skills for the future. 💼✨

It was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to build confidence, practise interview skills and take positive steps towards their career goals.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Fiona for the first time, Supports for Schools Advisor for Department for Work and Pensions - DWP, who met with one of our young people to provide support and guidance in their journey towards finding work.

A huge thank you to Riaz and Fiona for supporting our young people and helping them access opportunities to develop, grow and succeed. 🙌

We’re really excited to introduce Play it Forward, a kit recirculation scheme designed to give unwanted sports clothing/equipment a new lease of life! You can donate items via our box in the YES Hub, Monday - Friday, 9:30AM - 4PM
♻️ Additionally, you can take any items you might need - regardless of whether or not you access our services, no questions asked!
📍If you can’t make it down to the YES Hub, we also have boxes at Active Lancashire in Leyland and Active Cycles in Accrington!

A group of our young people have been making a fantastic impact as Young Advisers volunteering with StreetGames, helping to plan the upcoming East Lancashire Multi-Sports Festival in Burnley.

Through this exciting opportunity, they've been developing valuable skills in event planning, teamwork, communication and leadership while working together to help shape a fantastic event for the local community.

As part of their journey, they've also been getting active themselves with a fun tennis session at Burnley Tennis CLUB – proving that learning new skills and staying physically active go hand in hand!

We're incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to make a positive difference. Well done to everyone involved and thank you to Abi and Donna for supporting our young people every step of the way.
