It looks like we have a clear window for fireworks on Friday, Blacksmith’s field will be soggy. And the main concern is wind. At the moment it looks doable, if we can have the display safely for all then the show will go on.

Daffodil update
Thanks for everyone who has helped plant the 5000 daffodils. I won’t say where we have planted these, you can enjoy the surprise when they pop up in spring.
Also we have 1000 bluebells to plant in the wooded areas of Blacksmith’s field. If you would like to help plant these then your help would be very much appreciated. We will be meeting at csm village hall at 1030 this Sunday.
I look forward to seeing you there.

With funding from the government, we can help you with a range of measures to make your home more energy efficient

13/05/2023

The daffs need deadheading to ensure they put all their energy into next years flowers. If you walk past then, if you’re able to stop for 30 seconds and deadhead a few that would be marvellous. If everyone does that, they been done fore the end of the weekend.

This has been posted elsewhere on FB, so if you commented there no need to comment here too.

Interested in anyone else thoughts for or against. If you’re against understanding your reasons would be appreciated

Your Blacksmiths Field needs you!!
With our ever-increasing village and aging children, I would like to propose the next step for Blacksmiths field. I attended the Creeting St Mary Parish Council meeting to put forward an idea of a ‘wheeled sports area’ on the field which would include ramps and smooth surface areas for children to use scooters, skateboards, and roller skates and now I'm in need of peoples views on this.
The play park has a fantastic area for the younger children of the village with the swings, slide, climbing frame and the football goals which are very popular with children of Creeting St Mary and the surrounding villages. We have a lot of children in the village that are now that bit older and ready for something more their age to use and play on and with the number of houses being built there will no doubt be more children in the village.
It was while I was at Mendlesham village with my children playing on the fantastic new ‘Wheeled Sports Area’ that got me thinking, why can’t we have one of these in Creeting for the older children and early teens to use. At Mendlesham they have a great area built for skate boarding, scootering and roller skating. I have spoken to people in Mendlesham, and they have said "Our Mendlesham Wheeled Sports Area is an extremely popular, well used facility. It has brought pleasure to all who use it as well as other members of the community enjoying watching the children having fun" Mendlesham Parish Council.
BUT what if we could have one here on our village playing field, kids could use it straight after school, during the school holidays, evenings and weekends and parents can sit and enjoy a chat or even have a go themselves! It's so important for children to be outside having fun with friends new and old for their well-being and not sat indoors on screens!
So what I need is parents/Grandparents/carers of children of the village to let me know their thoughts on this so I can go back to the Parish Council and tell them what people of the village would like for the children/young teens if you can please email me – [email protected] with yours and your children’s thoughts on this whether you are keen on the idea or not, we can only do this is people reply!

Don’t forget to vote in the district council elections.
Mid suffolk looks after loads of things that effect our daily lives.
they are in charge of planning and our district councillors are able to force planning applications to a committee (at the request of the pc)
They look after our bins etc
the district council built the duck and teapot.
Weirdly we get two councillors representing as part of needham ward. So you can vote for two people
There are 2 Lib Dem’s, 1 green and 1 conservative on the ballot paper.
It’s open til 10pm
And don’t forget you need id to be able to vote now.

I hope you’re all enjoying the daffodils on the verges. The parish council bought 2000 bulbs and I hope we’ll buy 2000 more this year. I ended up planting them late and on my own.
So for 2023, if you want to help please save the dates of Saturday 7th October and Sunday 15th October. Hopefully a few extra hands will make light work of this.
Also if you live in the main village and have some roadside verve. We’d be happy to give you some bulbs to plant on that verge for the benefit of us all.
Comment below/dm or send me a message on 07815137228 if you’re able to help.

if you're able to help dm me or give me a call on 07815137228 or grab me at the fireworks as i'll be lighting them again this year.
