1st Needham Market Scout Group – Open Day!

Come along and celebrate the opening of our brand new Scout Headquarters!

📅 Saturday, 5 September 2026
🕚 11:00am–4:00pm
📍 Crown Street, Needham Market, IP6 8RY

There will be lots going on throughout the day, including:

🏹 Free children’s activities including soft archery, crafts and other games
🎨 Face painting
🧸 Toy stalls
🖨️ 3D printed items
🛍️ Plus a variety of other stalls
🍔 BBQ
☕ Tea & coffee
🍰 Cake stall
🏠 Tour of our new Scout Headquarters and chance to talk with the scout leaders.

It’s a relaxed, family-friendly community day, so pop in at any time between 11am and 4pm, have a look around, enjoy the activities, grab something to eat and help us celebrate this exciting new chapter for Scouting in Needham Market.

Everyone is welcome — bring the family and come and join us! ⚜️

It has been 5 weeks since group camp 26. With over 50 young people attending we had a weekend filled with exciting activities and we wanted to share a snippet of our weekend with you.

If you are interested in hearing more about the exciting things we do in scouting or are interested in wanting to help create these amazing memories for our young people then drop us an email or come and see us at our open event on the 5th of September.

WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Needham scouts are holding a Family Fun Day and Open Day at Needham Scout Hut on Saturday 5th September, and we’re looking for stallholders and food vendors to come along and join us.

If you run a craft stall, sell food or drink, or have a small business you’d like to showcase, we’d love to hear from you. Pitches are available at a low cost and all proceeds go towards our Scout group.

It should be a great day for the whole family, and a nice chance to get your name out there in front of the local community.

If you’re interested, drop us a comment or send a message and we can sort out pricing and space for you. Spaces are limited so best to get in touch soon!

The Beavers this week spent the evening talking about garden birds and decorating bird boxes!

We had some really excellent displays of teamwork, and the Leaders are so proud of how everyone threw themselves into the activity!!

Our Beavers section have been working towards the Teamwork Challenge badge over the past few weeks have been taking on team tasks and playing loads of team games.

We have had some excellent communication and encouragement between members of the group and have encouraged each child to lead a game or team or share a game they know with the group!

Challenge badges take a bit longer to achieve than the normal activity badges but are well worth it as each of the 6 Challenge Badges gets our young people one step closer to the BRONZE AWARD, the most difficult badge available at Beavers!

We have a number of children who are now getting close to achieving that milestone and many children who this may be their first Challenge Badge!

Keep an eye out for more fun and more badges!!
