Yesterday we welcomed care providers from across the county to our first Care To Connect: Provider Forum at Blackbourne Community Centre in Elmswell.

These forums are an opportunity to bring together owner providers and senior care leaders to discuss and feedback on topical social care issues and concerns. We were joined by colleagues from Suffolk County Council, the Integrated Care Board and Knowing Works to discuss LGR, Suffolk County Council's social care priorities for the year ahead, Continuing Health Care and Care Home Choices.

Jo Reeder, CEO of Suffolk Care Association said "it was great to get so many care professionals together in one room for the first of our provider forums - kicking off our new membership event programme at SCA. The genuine connections and conversations demonstrated the need to bring people together face to face and we look forward to doing more of this in the months ahead".

At Suffolk Care Association, we're proud to highlight providers making a real difference in their communities. This week we're shining a light on 1 Oak in Sudbury.

Their commitment to person-centred care reflects the values shared by care providers across Suffolk - compassion, quality, and putting people first.

Being part of Suffolk Care Association means more than membership. It's about coming together as a sector to share knowledge, strengthen our collective voice, support one another, and drive positive change for care across the county.

When care providers collaborate, we build stronger services, create new opportunities, and ensure the people we support receive the very best care possible.

Thank you to 1 Oak Home Care for being part of our growing community and for the incredible work you do every day๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’™ Carers Week 2026 | 8thโ€“14th June ๐Ÿ’™

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face, and recognise the vital contribution they make to families and communities across the UK.

The week also helps people who may not identify themselves as carers to recognise their caring role and access the support, information, and services available to them.

This Carers Week, we celebrate the dedication of unpaid carers and encourage everyone to help create greater understanding, recognition, and support for those who care for others.

โœจ Team Spotlight โœจ

Janet joined Suffolk Care Association in April 2025, bringing a wealth of experience in social care and administration. Her career has given her a deep understanding of people, their needs, and the support that helps individuals thrive. Combined with her warm, approachable nature and excellent organisational skills, Janet is committed to creating a positive experience for everyone she works with.

When she's not at work, Janet loves getting outdoors for long walks, losing herself in a good book, and making wonderful memories (and a little joyful mischief!) with her grandson.

We're delighted to have Janet as part of the SCA team.
