We were kindly invited to the 10 year celebration for the Together Tuesday group who meet at Abbeycroft Leisure in Hadleigh (Hadleigh Pool & Leisure)- on a Tuesday at 2pm! 🎉

Abbeycroft are very supportive of this important community group for local adults. Here they can experience friendship, fun, food, activities and various aspects of support.

We often visit the group to speak with attendees about their experiences of health and care services as well as offering signposting to other helpful services.

Last week, we were warmly welcomed by Caroline and Emma from the Blade Inclusive Salon. We were invited to take a look at their incredible Sensory Studio. The studio is a purpose built, specially designed space to create a calm and safe environment for individuals that find the process of a haircut overwhelming.

This salon offers not only a hair cut, but friendliness, support, and care. Each member of staff takes the time to get to know their customer, offering signposting to helpful services that they might otherwise not know about. They are kindly sharing information about our Best Start Family Voice network - all of which can be found here: https://knowingworks.co.uk/our-work/bsfvnetwork/

There are so many important messages in the report. For professionals in health and care systems, this mandate from survivors really matters.

"Stop waiting for survivors to disclose. Simply - Ask. Listen. Validate. Refer."

We need environments across services where professionals routinely ask, safely respond, and confidently refer specialist services.

Learn more about the report, and what survivors feel needs to change at https://knowingworks.co.uk/our-work/focus-on-survivors/

Survivors in Transition has useful information about support for survivors and professionals available at www.survivorsintransition.co.uk/resources

On Saturday morning, we were kindly invited by Suffolk Sight to speak with their junior group about our Best Start Family Voice network.

👉This network will support the development of the family hubs service in Suffolk. You can find out more about this here: https://knowingworks.co.uk/our-work/bsfvnetwork/

👉We are also looking for people to offer their feedback on current Family Hubs in Suffolk here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/t/beststartfamilyhubs/

Wondering why we are pictured with fire safety gear? The Fire Service were also in attendance at this event, offering an important talk about safety and precautions to avoid a fire. They also brought along outfits for everyone to try on! Of course we got involved!

Thank you Suffolk Sight for facilitating a great morning!

We were really pleased to attend the Future Female Society 10 year celebration event at the Hold in Ipswich on Saturday. 🎉🎊

Over the years, we have appreciated visiting the Future Female Society's groups and events, as well as engaging with all attendees.

As you can see from the last photo - the celebration itself was jam packed with many fun and engaging activities! We especially loved the cultural community fashion show - an amazing kaleidoscope of colour, costumes, and confidence.

Thank you for the warm invite 🩷
