Today, March 31st is Transgender Visibility Day. It is an annual event that is dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide.

3 simple ways to respect transgender individuals:

- Ask for people's pronouns and respect them, don't assume.
- Educate yourself on the challenges faced by transgender individuals.
- Use gender-neutral language e.g. police officer rather than policewoman or policeman.

If you are part of the LGBTQ community, join the Newtown College LGBTQ Society for our first meeting to chat and make new friends, and participate in fun activities!

We are looking for a student from each campus to set up and run an LGBTQ Society and any other activities you’d like to do. You will work with the Student Union and the Senior Student Involvement and Diversity Officer to do this.

To celebrate Pride Month, we are holding a VIRTUAL PRIDE PARTY on FRIDAY 2ND JULY, 6.30pm on our Discord server, featuring Kahoot quizzes, music, a virtual fashion show, a role model talk with Morgan Clark, and loads more!

🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

To celebrate Pride Month, we will be holding a virtual Pride event on FRIDAY 2ND JULY, featuring quizzes, a trans 101 talk, a fashion show, a Pride art contest (with prizes!), social activities, and loads more! More details to be shared next week. We hope to see you there!
