YMCA Neath is open as usual, but unfortunately we don't have the luxury of air conditioning throughout the building.

If you're attending the gym or any activities, please:

💧 Bring plenty of water
👕 Wear light, comfortable clothing
😎 Take regular breaks if needed
🏋️ Consider reducing the intensity of your workout
❤️ Listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard in the heat

We will do our best to keep the building as comfortable as possible, but temperatures may be higher than usual.

Today I headed just across the road to Neath RFC!

We had some positive conversations about how we might work together in the future to support local people and strengthen community connections.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do here at the YMCA and by working together we can create even greater opportunities for the people we serve. 💜

We’re kicking it off with incredible news 😁

WE WON🏆.....We are proud to share that YMCA Swansea’s LGBTQ+ Service 🏳️‍🌈 has WON the Welsh Youth Work Excellence Award for Equality and Diversity in a Youth Work Setting 2025.🎊🎉🎊🥳

This recognition means so much to our team and, most importantly, to the thousands of LGBTQ+ young people we support across Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

The judges said:
"A hugely impactful service which has grown exponentially into a service that reaches thousands of LGBTQ+ young people across Wales. Through education programmes, professional training and school-based work, the programme is also helping to shift attitudes, challenge stigma and empower young people to lead change within their own communities".

One young person captured the impact best:
“It’s the only place I can be myself – I don’t have to mask who I am.”
