Four years ago, after losing my beautiful son Gryff I was broken by grief and trying to find a way to keep breathing through the trauma. Then a kind person suggested creating something in his name. That small seed became Gryff’s Mind Space.

What started in pain gave me purpose. It gave me focus, connection, and a way to keep Gryff’s light shining while helping others who were struggling.

Our lucky number has always been 3, so it feels fitting that after 3 years, Gryff’s Mind Space is ready for a pause.

I want to say thank you. To every person who donated, volunteered, shared a post, offered skills, attended events, believed in us, or simply cheered us on - you mattered more than you know. You helped turn heartbreak into hope.

Thanks to one of Gryff’s childhood friends, who saw how close we were to our target and made a hugely generous donation at the final hurdle, we reached our goal. A kindness we will never forget.

To then receive a message saying our fundraiser was in the top 15% of JustGiving pages last month was the icing on the cake. That recognition belongs to every single person who supported us.

Life has moved forward in ways I know Gryff would want for us. I’m back working full time behind the scenes in social care, learning every day and feeling useful again. I’ve found love and happiness, and Gryff’s siblings are thriving.

Time is precious. Funds are limited. Need is still great. But here in Pembrokeshire there are now many brilliant support services and activities available. So rather than continue stretching ourselves too thin, Gryff’s Mind Space will now rest, while the website continues to help by signposting people to local support.

This isn’t goodbye to Gryff’s legacy. It’s simply the next chapter.

Thank you for carrying us, supporting us, and remembering him with love.
