🤩We had another remarkable record set on Saturday by Swansea local Alan Davies (age 70-74) who ran a time of 18:42 with an age grade of 98.13 %.

Reaching 98% is extraordinarily rare and indicates a performance very close to the best ever achieved for that age category.

Thank you to Heather (parkrun World Tourists) for this weeks run report:

Lovely sunny morning which made a welcome change from the cold rainy week that we’d had up til Friday. Great conditions; dry, not too warm and only a light breeze.
Plenty of parking at the Rugby Club with a short walk that led us to the start line after the briefings.
The course is flat and fairly straight out and back, with hardly any undulations which means it’s a good one for those looking for PBs. Congratulations must go to Janos Vranek on his time of 17:00 and Luticia Thomas her time of 19:33. Two milestones were also reached - one 50 Hannah Mulhall and one 25 Marcus Delli-Bovi - many congratulations.
Fantastic to have 22 people completing their first ever parkrun. It’s hoped you enjoyed your first time and will be back for more. There were 80 completing this parkrun for the first time.
Huge thanks as always to the 26 volunteers without whom parkrun simply wouldn't happen - remember that you can volunteer in certain positions and run. Of the 26 volunteers 10 volunteered and ran/walked as well. So please consider volunteering occasionally.
In all 220 parkrunners took part.
A lovely warm Welsh welcome to regulars and tourists alike.

A huge congratulations to Brecon AC member Jane on completing every parkrun in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Here is what Jane says about it 👇

Today I completed all parkruns in Wales at the newest event Llwybr Dyffryn Tywi, Nantgaredig with my fastest time this year and my second highest age grade ever!

When I began there were only 26 parkruns in Wales but now there are 61. Over the past year I have had only one left to complete several times, but before I could, another new one started!

There is a great variety of of courses across Wales, all of them stunning in their own way: many along rivers, pan-flat coastal paths and challenging hilly trails.

I have visited places I would never have been to otherwise (and had some cracking breakfasts!) and although I do not run as fast as I used to, I have really enjoyed running them all.
However, I may not retain my “Regionnaire” status for long as ever more new events launch!
