Nairn Loves Local

Nairn Loves Local Nairn Loves Local is about celebrating the town's businesses and ensuring Nairn is on the map as a super shopping destination and place to do business.

What is a BID? A BID is a business-led initiative where businesses work together and invest collectively to improve their own business environment. BIDs across Scotland focus on what is a priority for their town or area. A BID creates a partnership between businesses across town and key stakeholders. A BID is not a substitute for central or local government investment, but enables additional inves

tment to strengthen the local economy and give local businesses a unified voice, helping to provide an arena for businesses and local authorities to increase their understanding of each other’s priorities. A Business Improvement District can contribute to:

- The growth of sustainable businesses
- Broadening and strengthening the economy
- Improving the accessibility and quality of public and commercial services that local people and businesses depend on
- Building resilient sustainable communities

Nairn Connects BID is proud to be working with the Nairn Community to Promote Nairn to visitors, Welcome people to Nairn, unite local businesses with One Voice and Make it Happen in our small town. If you run a business in Nairn, from a small self catering property up to the biggest of retail spaces, you are already a member of Nairn BID. Keep up to date with everything we are up to here on FaceBook and get in touch if we can help!

The Havelock has gone through many changes under the ownership of Morag and Gordon Holding, the latest being the investment in an extension.
After completing it in April 2025, Morag and Gordon are overjoyed with the outcome. “It has been a game changer and has surpassed all our expectations. It’s transformed the business and despite the huge effort it took, we don’t regret doing it for a single minute. And it’s given us a sea view!”

Have you visited The Havelock, what do you think?

We are featuring The Havelock as our member of the month for September and whilst you might think that now the key tourist season is over, things will be getting quiet for the team - it's quite the opposite. This month alone they are juggling a B**r and C***r Festival, a new menu launch, involvement in Wheels of Nairn and the launch of their festive offering! Wow!

Have a read of the article here to find out more about what keeps owners Morag and Gordon Holding inspired and keep an eye on this page for updates throughout the month!
