The WI is saddened to hear of the passing of Gloria Steinem, a pioneering feminist, journalist and campaigner whose work helped advance the rights and voices of women around the world.

Today, we remember her life, her legacy and her extraordinary contribution to the women’s movement with one of our favourite quotes:

“Women may be the one group that grows more radical with age.”

The next meeting of Nafferton W.I. will be on Wednesday 9th September when we will have a speaker from Spicers Auctioneers. This will also include an opportunity for valuations of small items, so if you have anything do bring it along.

The competition is for a small collectible or antique item, so do bring an entry along if you have something.

Also the 16th September is WI day so thought we would take the opportunity to mark this by wearing something purple to this meeting ( but please don't let this stop you coming if this is a problem)

All ladies welcome with your first visit being free. Come and see what we are about and learn about the plans to celebrate 100 years of WI in Nafferton in 2027

Just a heads up that we will be bringing our bra collection to a close after our September meeting. Thank you to all who have already donated remember all bras whether still wearable or not will be gratefully received.

September is just around the corner so just posting a reminder about the coffee morning on Saturday 12th from 10.30 in Nafferton Village Hall. Come and find out what we have planned for the coming year especially plans for the celebration of 100 years of WI in Nafferton. This will also be one of the last chances to drop off pre loved bras raising funds for breast cancer research. There will also be crafts for younger ones so parents Grandparents and carers can enjoy a cuppa and cake.
