Thank you for continuing to show interest in restoring a library in Mytholmroyd. The trustees have tried over 5 years to compile a workable business plan to enable Calderdale Council to agree to a community assessment transfer. Our last and final plan was submitted this year and unfortunately it was not successful. This was disappointing news but the trustees are pleased that other initiatives in Mytholmroyd are progressing. The Station Partnership is doing well and Mytholmroyd Arts now has charitable status and will start with new plans. This will not replace the library. The trustees would like to thank everyone who has supported us in the past and we don’t feel we can continue. Our mainstay, Geoff Smith died last year and our secretary has moved recently out of Calderdale. We think we were right to apply for a CAT but sometimes we don’t succeed. In better financial times perhaps there could have been a better outcome.
