It is National Volunteer Week and we would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who make sure our two Community Pantries provide affordable and free food for our Musselburgh Area residents who are struggling with the cost of living. We have lots of lovely cakes of all description - for free at the Musselburgh Community Pantry at 8 Newbigging, Musselburgh, behind Kaffeine.
Please come along tomorrow morning (Friday) between 10.30-11.30am and maybe stay for a coffee and a chat. Lots of free surplus food and our usual selection of items £3.50 for 10 credits or £2 for 5 items.

Our pantry at musselburgh East Learning Centre is open tomorrow 12-1pm, 6-7pm and Tuesday at 6-7pm. And we have cakes!!
The centre is open as usual through the bank holiday.

On 27 April, we are hosting a hustings in Musselburgh's St Andrew's Church on the theme of Climate Change and Poverty.
Candidates for the Edinburgh Eastern, Musselburgh and Tranent constituency are being asked about how they will deliver a greener, healthier and fairer Scotland. Book a place and submit your questions here:

In Scotland, like many places, the effects of climate change are felt by the most vulnerable parts of society the hardest. It's one of the biggest contributors to rising grocery prices.
Sustaining Musselburgh, East Lothian Climate Hub and Volunteer Centre East Lothian are inviting candidates to answer constituents' questions pressing questions on climate, nature and food security.
We welcome questions on the topics of climate, food and fuel poverty and nature. We ask attendees to submit questions in advance, while reserving places at this free event, in order that as many points can be covered as possible.
The hustings will take place from 7pm, sharp in St Andrew's High Church Musselburgh. Doors open from 6.30pm with light refreshments.

Our community pantry is open every Friday 10.30-11.30am at 8 Newbigging, Musselburgh. Please come along to say hello. Our pantry at the Musselburgh East Community Learning Centre, Haddington Toad, Musselburgh, will be closed for Easter Monday (April 6), but open 6-7 on Tuesday, April 7. A huge thank you to The Corra Foundation for £3,000 for food and The Robertson Trust for £4,000 to pay six months rent on our Newbigging shop. We are extremely grateful and without grants like this the Musselburgh Community Pantry could not provide the services our volunteers deliver.
