Murton Colliery Banner Group Murton Colliery Banner Group was established in 2019 by four local residents of Murton.

We are a non-profit, apolitical group whose main aim is to carry on our mining heritage.

We’re running our June Booze Cruise once again! Saturday 27th June (two Saturdays before the Gala)

DJ, bar and cruise up the scenic Wear of Durham city ⛪️ Boards 6pm-11pm

Tickets for the boat are £10 ⛴️
Optional coach tickets from Murton-£10 🚌 (Leaves at 3:30pm- Returns 11:45pm)

Well we were slightly late last year, but this year we’re ensuring we’re sharp! 🎟️ SATURDAY 11th JULY 2026🎟️

Durham Big Meeting tickets will be on sale from next Thursday 14th May the Glebe Centre 🚩 CASH ONLY PLEASE 💴 (£7)
EDVT now runs the Glebe 6 days a week, please show these folks some respect and do try their cafe! (It’s lush)💂🏽

This year we’ve watermarked each ticket allocating you a bus, please remember this when purchasing and on the day to allow a smooth process of embarking 🚌

BE QUICK- These usually go quickly, if not ya not fast, ya last! 🏃🏽
BE SURE- In the past years we’ve reserved tickets for people on request and these haven’t sold meaning seats have been lost to possible attendees. We will only allow this as a last resort or if payment is taken, thank you ✅
BE PRESENT- We have a an outstanding reception and attendance every year, please continue to support our little village’s heritage!✊🏼

As everybody knows we are a non-profit organisation who ensure our tradition continues by seeking funding and by donations, so generous gestures like this keeps the running of Murton Colliery Banner Group in full momentum! 🎺 🚩
