Yesterday we welcomed Steff Aquarone MP and Cllr Wendy Fredericks to the station to meet the crew, show them around, and talk about some of the unique challenges and pressures for an independent lifeboat service.

Steff said: "It has been wonderful to visit Mundesley Lifeboat today. I was struck by how much is needed to make this all happen, not just the crew and the kit, but the people who fundraise and run the organisation as well."

“It was a real privilege to meet the crew, and like everyone in Norfolk I’m so grateful for the fact that they put themselves at risk, they freely give their time to keep us safe and to save lives at sea.”

Unfortunately, due to a series of factors beyond our control, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our Boxing Day Dip this year.

The forecast for Boxing Day is a combination of high tide, strong easterly winds, and challenging sea conditions, with the beach also seeing a buildup of large rocks.

The safety of everyone involved in the event, both those running and attending it, is of paramount importance to us.
