Muirkirk Gala Day Social Media Policy
Muirkirk Gala Day is a charity run volunteer group and not an organisation. Due to these events being public we cannot stop any photos being taken by individuals taking p

art and posting on their own social media accounts as it is not illegal to take photos at public events. Muirkirk Gala Day also use our own social media platforms to publish our events. We take our own photographs to share with the local community the work that we do. Every event will have photographs taken and used for this purpose. If you do not wish to have you or your child’s photo taken, please ensure that you contact a member of the Gala Committee before the event and we will endeavor to meet your request, however this will be purely for the Muirkirk Gala Social media platforms and no other individuals attending our events. If you are still concerned regarding photos being taken, we would advise for you or your child to not attend any event to align with your personal wishes. If any photos are taken and posted on our social media platforms after our events, you can contact us we will remove the photo immediately. This policy stands for all Gala Day run events including the gala day itself. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Best Wishes

What a fantastic Gala Day we had! 🥰🎉

We just wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Muirkirk Gala Day so special.

From everyone who donated, sponsored, volunteered, helped set up, entertained us, supported our Gala Court, brought along stalls and activities, helped behind the scenes, and simply turned up to enjoy the day — we appreciate every single one of you. ❤️

A special thank you to our amazing Gala Court and their families, and to all the local groups, organisations, businesses and individuals who gave their time and support. It really showed just how much community spirit there is here in Muirkirk. 💙

And, of course, thank you to everyone who came along on the day. Your smiles, laughter, support and enthusiasm are what make Gala Day what it is. 🥰

David is one of our very hard working committee members who not only is an amazing local businessman here in the village, employees individuals within the village and vendor at our gala but he is a much valued part of our team. For David to have worked so hard to get signs up to advertise our gala day this weekend, for someone on that road to have purposely taken them down, we are both so very disappointed and shocked. These signs cost a lot of money that the community has helped fund. If you are the person who has taken them down, or part of any organisation who’s taken down, please can you have our signs and banner back. We would very much like to have a discussion regarding this. To our lovely villagers who support us, if you have any information on this or seen anyone taken these down can you please get in touch to allow us to get to the bottom of this. We seriously hope this is a simple misunderstanding. These signs and banners are not cheap, hundreds of pounds to get people to our gala. Many thanks 🩵
