Muir of Ord Gala Muir of Ord Gala 2026 - Saturday 18th July to Sunday 26th July. The Muir of Ord Gala is held at the end of July each year.

The Gala Committee work really hard throughout the year producing a programme of events for all tastes, from the senior citizens tea dance, bowling for fun, 5K fun run, fancy dress parade, kids disco or the gala dance, whatever takes your fancy there is plenty to see and do. Visitors are welcome to participate or simply stand back and enjoy.

The Muir Gala week is approaching fast, so we thought that we should give you a peak at what we’ve all been planning and organising over the past 6 months! As always, our aim is to have a wide variety of events that should suit all interests and age groups.

We’re all set for our 2nd Men’s Football World Cup Fanzone in the village hall.

News of our village World Cup Fanzones has reached BBC Radio Scotland. So, they have been in touch to ask our chair, Frances, to join them live on air, as part of their pre match build-up show.
Therefore, we’re going to open the hall up at 8pm tomorrow night to show the USA 🇺🇸 v Australia 🇦🇺 match on the big screen for the Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 v Morocco 🇲🇦 match ticket holders.
This will ensure that we will make the best impression to the nation, as Frances can’t be speaking to them from an empty village hall! 😁

We are always in the lookout for volunteers to help us out at the many events that we organise during Gala week.

Last night’s 1st Fanzone in the Village Hall was a great success due to our amazing volunteers who sold tickets, set everything up, manned the bar, the door, tidied and cleaned up afterwards.
These brilliant individuals yesterday evening, throughout the early hours of this morning and the Sunday afternoon clean-up, include Ashley Mackenzie, Billy MacGruer, Eleanor Gray, Trevor MacFadyen, our wonderful community champion and Gala Chair; Frances MacGruer, plus our Gala Secretary Vivyan MacLean. We should also thank Laura Bonner for selling tickets, Diane & Lid Connolly-Philip for helping with tidying up this afternoon.

What a brilliant first night for our Men’s Football ⚽️ World Cup Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 game, everyone was in high spirits and the boy’s on the pitch didn’t let us down against Haiti 🇭🇹 with an opening match win! 🤩

The Gala Group are considering putting together a village Fan Zone in the Village Hall for Scotland’s opening World Cup match:
Haiti v Scotland, Saturday, 13 June / Sunday 14th June | Boston Stadium
Kick-off time 21:00 (Boston) | 02:00 (Muir of Ord) 14 June
We want to gauge public opinion before booking the necessary equipment to deliver such an event.
