Such a privilege to be invited by Dr Yuki Kamoto to run the first ever DDP training for over 100 therapists and social workers in Japan.

Led by Dr Vicky Sutton and Joanne Alper, this introduction to DDP was really well received and the discussions we had about cultural fit were incredibly interesting. When it comes to therapeutic approaches its so important to understand and respect different cultures.

Excited to see where this leads DDPI Worldwide!

A huge thank you to everyone who made The Business of Creating Hope and Happiness such a truly special fundraising evening.

This was the first time we’ve created an event like this, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from so many amazing people. From those who attended, contributed, shared, and encouraged us along the way, every single one of you played a part.

We didn’t just host an event, we provided an inspiring and hopeful experience, raised valuable funds for our charity, built meaningful new connections, and created a space where people could come together, have fun, and leave feeling part of something genuinely worthwhile.

What stood out most was the spirit of connection. People supporting people. Conversations that mattered. Relationships that will continue long after the event itself.
Because the truth is, we can’t do this alone. Real impact happens when people come together and support each other.
A special to Sir John Timpson, and Janet Leighton for coming all the way from Manchester to support us and share their wisdom .
And thanks to everyone who supported us and for being part of our charity journey. We’re just getting started, and we’re so excited for what comes next 💫

So lovely to see professionals from across the UK coming together, connecting, and continuing to grow their therapeutic skills.

Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) is, at its heart, all about relationships — building safety, trust, and understanding for children and young people who need it most.

This is the first international conference dedicated to the implementation of DDP within children’s residential care.

Bringing together leaders from across the UK and the USA, the conference focuses on the real-world application of DDP in residential settings.

Speakers will share the challenges they encountered, the solutions they developed, and the impact DDP has had on staff teams, organisational culture, and the lives of children and young people.

As we step into a new year, we’ve been taking time to reflect on our training services in 2025—and one thing we’re especially proud of is how inclusive our learning spaces continue to become.

For the first time, we welcomed someone who is registered as blind onto one of our therapy courses. We were delighted to hear that she found the experience supportive and accessible, and that she was able to fully engage with the training.

We truly believe that considering and caring for people’s unique needs is important. When training is inclusive, everyone has the opportunity to get the very most from their learning—and that’s something we’re committed to continuing as we move forward. 🌱
