We are delighted to announce that Balls & Boots has been awarded £5,000 by Garfield Weston Foundationto support our work with children and young people across Scotland.
The Garfield Weston Foundation is a family-founded grant-maker which has been supporting charities across the UK since 1958. It supports organisations working across a wide variety of sectors that are making a positive difference within their communities.
Since it was established, the Foundation has awarded nearly £1.7 billion in grants, and in 2024–25 alone awarded almost £130 million to 2,967 charities.
We are extremely grateful that Balls & Boots is now one of the charities to receive their support. For a small charity like ours, an award of £5,000 makes a real difference and will help us continue the work we are doing across Scotland.
A huge thank you to everyone at the Garfield Weston Foundation for supporting Balls & Boots. 💚⚽

A wee message from someone we work with :
'Thank you so much for helping out a young homeless boy with football boots and trainers .He was desperate to join a football club but had nothing. He is now happily playing football twice a week .
He had asked me to thank you 'big time' .He asked me to say that for the first time in a long time he does not feel invisible and feels a bit overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers '
Thanks again

"We were delighted to receive two full sets of bibs for two teams and the netballs. We have been struggling on with any bibs we could find and basket balls, which weren’t ideal. The girls love the new equipment and it will motivate more girls to join in netball in future. Thank you so much. St Thomas' Primary School netball teams "
