St. Marys Moseley Organ Appeal The 1885/6 Henry Jones Exhibition Organ at St. Marys has been serving the people of Moseley for over 130 years. For six centuries St. Music at St.

We are delighted that in 2025 it has been comprehensively rebuilt by Clevedon Organs UK. Moseley "Village" is a very special area in the city of Birmingham, with its own unique character and heritage, at the heart of which lies its parish church. Mary's has looked out over the changing face of its community and shared in its development. It has been the focal point for the community to celebrate a

nd to mourn over two world wars, the accession of monarchs, the death of a princess, elections, festivals, concerts, local and national occasions. Mary's has uplifted, enlivened and entertained congregations over many generations and central to this has been St. Mary's very special organ - the prize-winning Henry Jones instrument built for the National Art Treasures Exhibition of 1886, and subsequently brought to Moseley by public subscription in 1887. Now, in the 21st century, the organ is feeling its age and is kept going with first aid, a wing and a prayer! A recent report has indicated that somewhere in the region of £180,000+ will be needed to renovate and bring the instrument back to its previous glory. Thanks to some most generous individual donations we are, at the start of 2021, within sight of our target. Here’s to the final mile to enable the instrument to contribute to the future as it has done to the past.
