Here's our 'dead hedge' bedding in nicely. It's such a lovely feeling knowing that these Xmas trees are benefitting nature, and returning to the soil.
One thing that has become so obvious to me as Green Acres develops, is that everything, and everybody, is linked.
You might think that daft, but it's not, I am 100% sold on the belief. The sooner we all appreciate this the better in my eyes
From the mycelium underground, to insects, birds, animals, plants, us, including our actions, behaviours and intentions.....it's all linked, and we all rely on each other.

This repurposing of Xmas trees ties their previous owners into our story. The trees now benefit nature and our project, we do school visits etc....and probably speak to kids who's houses these trees were in.

🤷‍♂️ A tiny example, but one that shines bright.

Great to see the SafeShel tent we donated to the Newcastle Rugby Foundation being put to good use.
Here it is on standby at their rugby residential in Durham.

"This is a fantastic system that will provide vital assistance in the event of any serious injuries that may occur at our camps."

We at Green Acres Future love supporting the local community and sport in this way.

Just back from a lovely summer holiday. One of my favourite bits is being in/beside the sea. The mental and physical benefits are immense, whether it's the immersion grounding process of being in the water, or the calming, alpha brainwave inducing sounds of the waves.
We all need to be more aware of what nature can do for us.

We have exciting news coming regarding our Sustainability in Sport campaign.

In a joint effort with our partners SafeShel we have secured a large supply of Green Acres Future branded tents. These tents are a brilliant idea, providing almost instant protection from the elements from anyone unfortunate enough to be injured outdoors and be waiting for an ambulance.

We are commited to our community efforts, and love donating these tents to local sport clubs, and will be ramping this up very soon.
We'll be in touch will all those who've expressed an interest and welcome enquiries from any club we haven't spoken to yet.

Thanks to all those we've linked up with so far. Now that our hay season is done on the farm we'll be delivering the outstanding tents, doing carbon audits for you all and moving onto the next stages of your sustainability journeys.

Sport is a vital part of our communities, the mental and physical benefits are huge, and we're pleased to be helping, albeit in a small way.

Some things just make you smile. I was trying to get a picture of our multi-generational pet lamb flock and caught this beauty of Esmerelda.

Esmerelda is 11, and a proper pet sheep. She loves cuddles and eats from our hands. The other 2 are this year's additions, and it's cute to see Susan and Sally hanging around with Esmerelda Who knows how the 3 of them chummed up....must have been a high brow sheep conversation.

Susan is a cracking lamb, really healthy and growing well. Little Sally is still really cute, but her tough start in life must be hindering her. You may recall she was pretty much a goner, until we got her going with some mouth-to-mouth and TLC. I don't think she's quite the full shilling, probably due to oxygen starvation at birth, but she's managing, and we do all we can to help her.

Never a dull day at Green Acres Future .

Today I walked into the field unaware that the beehives were being checked.

Yesterday, the bees were apparently calm. Today, after being disturbed by a man in a full protective suit checking their hives for honey, they got rather angry, and the sight of me , in my shorts and t-shirt, was apparently an ideal way to vent that ire.

3 stings and a 50m sprint later, they had decided enough was enough.

Anyway, there's plenty honey apparently, so that's ok!!

One of my favourite times of year..There's something immensely satisfying about clearing a field of bales and stacking them onto the trailer.

Robin Hills your hay supply for the The Hungry Obbit sanctuary is in the shed ready.

As per, thanks to all our Green Acres Future clients, your belief in us allows us to donate the bales to Robin and his animals.
