Join LANDS (Lancashire Arts Network for Developing Sustainability) for a day of ideas, conversation and collaboration exploring the role of creativity and the arts sector in responding to the climate crisis, what we can do and how we can do it. More Music is a founder member of LANDS and will be running a session on the day.

This event is for you if you want to explore how to bring climate action ideas into your work with participants and communities in engaging ways as part of creative projects and events. You could be a freelance arts practitioner, or someone who works for an arts organisation as a practitioner or manager, or an artist or musician who wants to develop their skills and practice informed by climate action.

This event will include a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, which will provide inspiration and provocation for group discussions, collaboration and creativity inspired by the film’s messages. It will be a unique opportunity to discuss the film with arts practitioners from across Lancashire, develop new ideas and devise pledges for creative action to take into the future.

The Eco Collective young producers present a free public screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing.

The film features Chris Packham CBE and sets out the implications of climate and nature breakdown for food security, public health, infrastructure, the economy and national security, alongside evidence-based actions that could reduce these risks.

The evening will include a facilitated community discussion, with live music from young musicians and special guests.

Are you a TEACHER or a PARENT / CARER and know a girl aged 12-19 who wants to make music?

We're running our popular Girls Can - a free two-day workshop and we'd love any students / young people you know to join!

3-4 October, 10am-3pm | Free | Ages 12–19

Girls will form bands, develop songwriting and performance skills, learn sound/lighting/studio engineering, and build genuine industry knowledge.

"It made me much more confident in my skills as a performer, and I really enjoyed the freedom to do our own thing."

The weekend culminates in a performance at Lancaster Music Festival on 10 October so they will get a chance to gain some confidence by performing in public.
This is for girls and non-binary people who love music but might not see themselves represented in the industry yet.

This free event is an opportunity for young people aged 16-25 to find out more about different pathways to a career in music and the arts sector from industry professionals.

Our guests are:
- Lois – alt-pop singer-songwriter with national airplay and a recent support slot with Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
- Marianne Barraclough – Executive Director of More Music, one of the UK’s longest running community music organisations.
- Max McGuire – award winning TV, film and video game composer with credits including Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Star Trek: Picard and Gladiator II.

You’ll get to hear about their pathways into their careers, what they learned along the way and get to ask the questions you want to ask as a part of a panel and in smaller breakout groups.

This event is for you if you want to learn more about what careers exist in the music industry and what steps you need to take to get there.
