Unique Kidz and Co now offers After school and Holiday Clubs, Stay and Play sessions all for disabled children.. We also have a Siblings group that is for brothers and si

What a weekend we have coming up! 💜

We want to wish a HUGE good luck to everyone taking on a challenge for Unique Kidz & Co this weekend!

On Saturday, our Born Survivor team will be tackling mud, water and obstacles, before our Great North Run runners take on 13.1 miles on Sunday.

A special shoutout to Sam, Cally, John, Dave and Diana from Angus Fire, who are taking on the Great North Run together. They’ve been putting in the miles, pushing themselves outside their comfort zones and have already raised an incredible amount for Unique Kidz & Co.

Every person taking part this weekend has chosen to do something challenging to help support the young people that come to Unique Kidz & Co – and we’re incredibly grateful.

Whether you’re running, climbing, crawling through mud or wondering why on earth you signed up in the first place… we’ll be cheering you on! 💜

This is why Holiday Club matters so much. 💜

During the school holidays, our team works incredibly hard to make sure the children and young adults that come to Unique Kidz & Co have somewhere safe, welcoming and fun to spend their summer.

For the young people, it means time with friends, days out, new experiences and plenty of opportunities to play and have fun. For parents and carers, it means knowing their child is somewhere they know, with people they trust, allowing them to step away from their caring responsibilities for a few hours – whether that’s to work, spend time with other family members or simply have some time for themselves.

Receiving feedback like this at the end of a very busy summer means a lot to our whole team.

A huge thank you to all our staff for the energy, care and enthusiasm they brought to every single day this summer. 💜

Our next Stay & Play Family Drop-In is coming up! 💜

Join us on Saturday 19th September, 12pm–3pm, at Unique Kidz & Co for a relaxed afternoon of play, fun and time together.

Our Family Drop-In sessions are open to all ages, with plenty to explore and enjoy in our welcoming and accessible space.

There’s no need to book – simply come along, stay for as long as you like and enjoy the afternoon with us.

Our new sensory bead curtain has already been a big hit at Stay & Play with Unique Kidz!

These two little ones were among the children enjoying exploring it this week. For them, Stay & Play is a chance to have fun, explore, socialise and spend time around other children in a welcoming and inclusive space.

And while the children play, Stay & Play gives parents and carers something important too – the chance to meet other families, share experiences, ask questions of our team and build their own support networks.

Providing specialist sensory equipment like our new bead curtain helps us add even more opportunities for play, exploration and enrichment to the time children spend with us.

As a charity, our Stay & Play sessions are completely free and open to children under 5 with disabilities and their families. You don’t need to already use any other Unique Kidz & Co service to come along.

Sometimes something as simple as a new way to play can bring a lot of joy. 💜

Our Inspirations of the Week! 💜

We’ve had another week full of brilliant people supporting Unique Kidz & Co in all sorts of ways.

On Tuesday evening, we were invited to speak to the Hest Bank Ladies Group and share a little more about Unique Kidz & Co. Jane and Denise’s story particularly resonated with the group, whose own children all went to school together and who have continued meeting for many years since. It was lovely to share our story with them and we were incredibly grateful to receive a donation of more than £230!

Then on Thursday, we headed to Garstang URC for their monthly Coffee Morning. This is now the fourth time they have chosen to support Unique Kidz & Co and we’re always given such a warm welcome.

Our fabulous baking volunteers had been busy putting together a brilliant selection for the bake sale, including a very special cake made by one of our parents! He has a rather fancy printer that can print directly onto icing and used it to create this amazing cake complete with the Unique Kidz & Co logo – almost too good to cut into!

Alongside the bake sale, we sold Christmas cards and held a raffle, and thanks to everyone who baked, bought, donated and supported us, more than £220 was raised.

And finally, Thursday also marked Lorraine’s first shift as our new Online Sales Volunteer!

Lorraine is helping our Fundraising Team turn your donated items into funds for Unique Kidz & Co by listing and selling them on Vinted – and she certainly hit the ground running, listing dozens of items on her very first shift!

Thank you Lorraine for giving your time to support us, and thank you to everyone who continues to donate items for us to sell.

LAST CHANCE: Snowdon by Sunrise 🌄

There’s still time to join Team Unique for one of our new challenge events of 2026!

On Sunday 27th September, we’ll be taking on Snowdon in the early hours, climbing through the darkness before reaching the summit in time to watch the sun rise over the mountains.

It’s an early start. It’ll be a challenge. But that view at the top will be worth every step.

By taking part, you’ll also be raising vital funds to help us continue creating opportunities and experiences for the young people that come to Unique Kidz & Co. 💜
