What could the Pot Still become for Moray? At MADE, we imagine it as a welcoming, open-access creative space where everyone can connect, take part, experiment, learn and be inspired. In this video, we share our hopes for the Pot Still and explore how it could grow into an inclusive community arts space shaped by local people, creativity and shared possibility.

A brilliant morning bringing together our Pot Still commissioned artists - Codie Anne, June and Lynne — with the curatorial team, MADE's Creative Director Stacey, freelance Heritage Consultant Helen Avenell, and MADE’s Creative Engagement Lead Hayley Anderson (behind the camera).

The first conversation was full of energy, ideas and inspiration as we explored the stories of the former Gordon Arms and the creative possibilities ahead as the Pot Still creative art space. We're so excited to see how this fantastic collective responds to the place, its heritage and its people — and we can't wait to share the work as it unfolds.

June Lillico’s work spans mixed media and textile disciplines, often exploring relationships- both human connections and our evolving relationship with the land and sea.

June is deeply influenced by the local landscapes- the shifting light, changing seasons, and the rhythms of the natural environment.

Lynne Strachan is a Moray-based visual artist whose practice is shaped by interests in place, process and the evolving relationship between people and their environments.

Working across a wide range of creative skills, including photography, research, installation and socially engaged approaches, she develops projects through observation, conversation and sustained engagement with specific sites and contexts.

Codie Anne is a contemporary multimedia artist who graduated from UHI Inverness in 2025 with a BA (Hons) Art and Contemporary Practices.

Codie Anne enjoys blurring the lines of fine art and craft by incorporating techniques such as crochet within traditional compositional frameworks, exploring and expanding techniques that have historically been excluded from the high art world.

✨ We’re delighted to announce our three commissioned artists ✨

Codie Anne, Lynne Strachan and June Lillico have been awarded the Pot Still Micro Commissions.

Each artist will create new work in response to the building, contributing to the permanent collection of the new Pot Still community arts space in the former Gordon Arms Hotel.

We’re excited to begin this journey with our commissioned artists and to share the process with you along the way.

An opportunity to come together with others, whilst having a platform to share a thought, idea or problem with those that might resonate and/or understand. Multiple options - you can stay for the full day, come for the morning and lunch, or just the morning session.
