A huge thank you to Kenny and Gary at Montrose Fire Station for volunteering their evening to show our Cub Scout Pack around the station last night.

The Cubs had a fantastic time learning all about the important work the fire service does within our community. They loved exploring the fire engines, getting a closer look at all the equipment, and, of course, having a turn with the fire hose!

Thank you both for making the visit so engaging, informative and memorable for the children. We really appreciate the time you gave us and everything you do to keep our community safe throughout the year.

What a fantastic weekend!
Our Cub Pack attended our annual district summer camp at the Jock McNeish Scout Centre over the weekend, where 14 of our amazing young people enjoyed two nights of adventure, fun, and friendship.
Throughout the weekend, the Cubs took part in a wide range of activities and games, challenged themselves with new experiences, and created memories that will last a lifetime. Of course, no camp would be complete without a traditional campfire sing-song, where everyone joined together to share songs, laughter, and some dance moves too.
A huge thank you to all of our volunteer leaders and supporters who helped make the camp such a success. We are incredibly proud of all the young people who attended and embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and great Scout spirit.
Well done, everyone – we can't wait for next year's adventure!

We headed out to Tayock last night to forage for supplies for our bug hotel and explore all the changes in the environment since our last visit ☺️🍃🐞

Every visit to Tayock helps our Cubs work towards their Naturalist badge, while also ticking off parts of several other badges too 🥰

The Cubs had a fantastic time learning about nature, teamwork, and the world around them 💚 xx

Over this weekend scouts from 1st Montrose and Leysmill embarked on the Expedition Challenge Award. They started at Millden up Glen Esk, followed a route over Craig Crane to Tarfside, round the back of the Hill of Rowan to overnight at the Scout Hut at Dalbrack. Food was cooked, games played and the usual camp fire. Up bright and early on the Sunday to get breakfast and make the trek back to Millden this time via the south side of the river. They all smashed it.

We had a great evening at Tayock with our Cub Scouts 🌿

The kids got creative making art from nature and had loads of fun learning about different trees, flowers, and insects along the way. A perfect mix of creativity, exploration, and fresh air!

A huge congratulations to Kim, Stuart and Kieran for organising such a fantastic evening! 🎉

Last night we hosted An Evening of Mediumship with Karen Docherty to help raise funds for Kieran’s World Scout Jamboree trip to Poland next year. With amazing support from Jenna and Kirsty (who we’re hoping to recruit to the fundraising team 👀), we managed to raise an incredible £730! 🥳🥳🥳

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported us, and of course to Karen Docherty for making the evening such a special success.

Every bit brings Kieran one step closer to his adventure! 🌍✨

🌟 Celebrating an Amazing Achievement! 🌟
We are incredibly proud to share that two of our fantastic Cub Scouts have been awarded their Chief Scout’s Silver Award – the highest award a Cub Scout can achieve! 🐾
To earn this award, they have shown real dedication and determination. They’ve completed a wide range of challenge awards, developed new skills, taken part in adventures, helped others, and shown what it truly means to be a great member of our Scout community.
Throughout their time in Cubs they have been thoughtful, kind, and always ready to help. They’ve encouraged their fellow Cubs, taken on challenges with enthusiasm, and been wonderful role models for the rest of the pack.
We couldn’t be prouder of the amazing young people they have become, and we can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve next in their Scouting journey and beyond.
Congratulations to you both – a truly brilliant achievement! 🎉👏
