After our meeting on 17th March, the committee managed to secure 4 extra members and a handful volunteers who are willing to help.
Thanks to this response we are planning to go ahead with gala day for 2026.

We still require volunteers who are able to commit to help with marshalling on the day. Without the commitment of marshalls we will not be able to hold our parade of floats or the torchlight procession.
As it stands we will have our retinue and crowning of the Queen followed by entertainment in Park Circle.

Marshalls would be required for the afternoon while the parade takes place, between 1pm-3pm and between 945pm - 1045pm for the torchlight procession.

If we can secure marshals and additional volunteers we can proceed with the usual gala day, if you can help please contact us ASAP via Facebook, email [email protected] or speak to one of our committee members.

SAVE OUR GALA

Having held the EGM, we had Shepherd & Lass members plus 2 people out with the outgoing committee attending the night, numbers which were very disappointing.
This is now time critical as things need to be booked, principles chosen and events planned.
We currently have a secretary and a treasurer plus some of last year’s committee members but desperately need new blood to allow the Gala to continue
Thoughts on the night were to reduce Gala Week to just Gala Day only. But to allow us to do this we urgently need committee members or the 75th Anniversary of Gala Queen will not go ahead. YOUR CHOICE.
We are having one more meeting to decide if this should go ahead or not which will be held at the P.I.S.C. at 7pm on the 17th March.
