Horses Not Houses Community group dedicated to putting a stop to Kirklees Council's plans for the building of 4,000 houses on greenbelt land and Lady Wood at Sands Lane.

The Draft Local Plan published by Kirklees Council proposes that 4,000 new houses are built on the fields and woodland located between Ravensthorpe Road and Sands Lane. Should the development go ahead then Lady Wood could be felled. The plan also proposes that the houses are built on land currently used for horse grazing and stabling. Where would these horses be relocated to should the development

go ahead? We believe that the proposal is wrong on many fronts, and this blog aims to be a hub to communicate the council's development proposals to the wider community, and with your support preserve Lady Wood and the surrounding area for the enjoyment of future generations.
