A special Sound Healing Experience is coming to Mirfield on Sunday 10th May.

11:00am–1:00pm
£33 per person

This is a space to slow down, soften, and fully reset.

For this session, there will be two sound healers, creating a deeper, more immersive experience as the sound moves around and through you.

We’ll begin with a cacao ceremony to gently open the heart, followed by a deeply relaxing sound healing using crystal bowls, gongs, chimes and more.

Reiki energy will also be offered throughout, supporting the body in releasing tension and coming back into balance.

There will also be an intentional craft, giving you a chance to create something meaningful to take away with you, grounding the experience and your intentions into something physical.

There will be time for oracle cards and quiet reflection, allowing you to tune in and receive guidance.

This experience is designed to:
calm the nervous system
reduce stress and overwhelm
bring balance to your energy
support emotional release
and leave you feeling grounded, lighter, and more connected to yourself

You don’t need any experience — just come as you are and allow yourself to receive.

If you’ve been needing some time to reset, this is a beautiful space to do that.

Good morning everyone and happy Monday 🤍 sat here wondering how many people’s babies sleep the most soundly at the point where you have to get up 🫠😂 the curtains are drawn, the windows are open and yet little Jude is still very much in dream land 🤍 we are ready for a busy week and can’t wait to welcome everyone in to The Nest on Tuesday, 10-12 Dream of hot drinks, dream of cakes, dream of having a couple of hours to look after yourself 🤍

03/03/2026

So let’s talk about Tuesdays…
Picture this, you wake up (after who knows how much sleep) and face another day looking at the same four walls, surrounded by nappies, the same toys, not sure how to fill your time and not wanting to tackle the washing pile. But then you remember -

Tuesdays are Nest days 🍃

So you amble down to Royds Mill for 10am, you get a warm welcome, take a comfy seat, we make you a hot drink and bring you some home made cake, and relax. ☺️

The Nest is just that, you time. Come as you are, have a chat, meet some new Mums and let’s talk about what is going on with you!

And best of all - it’s only £6.50(!)
(or £12 if you fancy staying for the full two hours)

See you lovely lot tomorrow 🤍

23/02/2026

Thank you to all of our lovely Mums (and babies!) that joined us today for the taster sessions in Mirfield 🤍 it was so nice to meet you all and listen to your experiences of becoming new parents.

Today’s sessions have highlighted once again how important having check ins are, remembering that it can be dark even when there is light and that’s ok 🤍

The take away today is to think of one thing that you want for the next few weeks and to try and make moves to make that happen (disclaimer this probably isn’t a lottery win…) but maybe an undisturbed bath, a gym class or a guilt free meal out with friends - filling up your cup is ultimately filling up your babies 🤍

We’ve got space. Want to grow your thing here?

We’ve got a great unit in Mirfield that we use for our martial arts school – and we’ve now got some full-time and part-time space available for the right people.

If you’re building a small business and want somewhere professional (without signing your life away on a big lease), this could be ideal.

Perfect for things like:
- Personal training or small-group fitness
- Dance, cheer or performance practice
- Sports massage, physio or therapy work
- Tutoring, educational clubs or small workshops
- Any other “people-facing” service that needs a clean, welcoming space

What we can offer:
- Full-time or shared / part-time use
- Regular weekly slots so you can build a routine with your clients
- Great location in Mirfield with easy access for local families
- Shared building with an established martial arts school (steady flow of people in and out each week)

If you’re currently:
- Working from home and running out of space
- Thinking about starting something but the idea of a full unit is too much

…then this might be the “in-between” step you’ve been looking for.

If you’d like more info or to come and have a look around, just drop me a message with what you do and what kind of days/times you’d be looking for.

👉 Message us to chat and arrange a viewing.

Not every fight is visible.

Some battles happen behind smiles.
Behind “I’m fine.”
Behind quiet school runs, silent commutes, and long nights lying awake.

Today is World Mental Health Day.
But for many, every day is a mental health day.

Sometimes, the hardest thing isn’t a workout.
It’s getting out of bed.
Answering a message.
Stepping into a room where you feel like you don’t belong.

And that’s why spaces like this matter.
Not because of the punches or the pads or the points.
But because of the unspoken things:

🤝 A hand offered without question.
👊 A place to move when words are too heavy.
🧠 A moment where you’re reminded: you’re not alone.

At our best, martial arts isn’t about creating champions.
It’s about creating
Safety.
Teamwork.
Respect.
Inclusivity.
Kindness.
Empowerment.

It’s about reminding people – young or old – that they can feel strong even when life feels fragile.
That they don’t need to have it all together to show up.
That they are seen. And they are valued.

So if you’re struggling – or someone you love is – start here:

It’s full of simple, trustworthy advice to help you support your child – and yourself.

You’re not alone.
Keep going. 💛

“I Don’t Want to Make My Child Do Anything They Don’t Want To…”

I hear this from parents when their child says they want to quit martial arts.

And I get it. Honestly, I’ve felt it with my own kids too. As parents, we want to protect them from struggle. We don’t want to be the “pushy parent.”

But here’s my truth 👇

I didn’t have parents who pushed me. If I didn’t want to do something, I was let off the hook. At the time, it felt like freedom. But looking back, it made life much harder.

As a teenager, I was very overweight. I avoided anything uncomfortable. I always chose the easy way, because no one taught me the value of sticking it out. Even now, those choices still haunt me.

That’s why I feel so strongly about this with my own kids.

They’re still young, and they train in our classes. Quitting isn’t an option. Not because I want them to be champions, but because I know finishing something hard will shape who they are.

Kids can’t always tell the difference between what they want and what they need. If left to their own choices, most would pick an iPad and crisps over anything good for them. That’s why they need us – to guide them.

We don’t ask if they want to brush their teeth.
We don’t ask if they want to go to school.
We don’t ask if they want to go to the doctor.

We know those things matter. And for me, martial arts is the same.

It’s not just about kicks and punches. It’s about:
- Learning to listen
- Pushing through challenges
- Working with others
- Building resilience

These lessons carry into school, careers, relationships – even running their own business one day.

That’s why I won’t let my kids quit. They may not thank me now, but one day they’ll see why I pushed when it mattered.

So instead of saying:
“I don’t want to make my child do anything they don’t want to…”

Maybe the phrase is this:
“I’m not raising them for the easy choice – I’m raising them for the right choice.”

That’s not being pushy. That’s being a loving parent!
