🚦CHANGING SPEED ON OUR GRID ROADS🚦

Milton Keynes City Council is consulting on proposed new 40mph and 50mph speed restrictions on parts of Dansteed Way (H4), Portway (H5), Chaffron Way (H7) and Grafton Street (V6).

As many residents know, Milton Keynes was designed around a grid road system intended to keep traffic moving efficiently across the city. Some residents may welcome these proposals from a safety perspective, whilst others may have concerns about congestion, journey times and whether reducing speeds on grid roads is the right approach.

Whether you support the proposals, oppose them, or feel changes are needed, I would strongly encourage residents to take part in the consultation before it closes on 11 June 2026.

The roads affected include sections of:
• Dansteed Way (H4)
• Portway (H5)
• Chaffron Way (H7)
• Grafton Street (V6)

Comments can be submitted to: [email protected] quoting reference TRO-474.

Consultation closes: 11 June 2026.

Let's get those comments in - it is really important you have your say!!!

🗳️ Election Day is almost here, and we’ve been out talking to residents in Tattenhoe Ward!!!

You’ve told us what you want done- STOP the tip, SAVE the Green, get adoptions done faster, protect what is unique about Milton Keynes.. we’ve been listening to you and we agree. Together we can fix the basics and build a brighter future for Milton Keynes. 🌟

This Thursday 7th May, you have THREE votes. Please use all of them and choose your local Conservative team:
✅ Shazna MUZAMMIL
✅ Krish PILLAI
✅ Maneesh VERMA

📬 You might have noticed… a few more leaflets than usual landing on your doorstep 😀👀 (Bear with us 🙏)

With postal votes arriving soon, we thought it best that we introduce ourselves properly… 😀

👇 Who is your Conservative team for Tattenhoe, Oxley Park, Westcroft, Tattenhoe Park & Kingsmead?

For us, it’s really very simple it’s about residents, supporting them, representing them, putting them first and how we make our ward an even better place to live.

This year is a little different you have THREE votes. So you can use your vote for all three of us.

💙Cllr Shazna Muzammil
If you’ve ever raised an issue locally, chances are you’ve heard back from Shazna. She is someone who genuinely loves representing all of you and loves what she does 😀 (albeit donned with hats, scarves and questionable taste in shoes 😀)

She’s a mum, stepmum, wife of a veteran, works full time (master juggler) and someone who is always looking for solutions, not excuses. Integrity and trust aren’t just words - they guide absolutely everything she does.

💙Cllr Manish Verma
Hardworking, approachable, and constantly out and about, Manish is focused on getting things sorted whether that’s chasing up issues, supporting residents, or making sure your voice is heard where it matters.

He’s the familiar face that everyone instantly recognises 😀

He’s a dad, a husband, works locally and lives locally and genuinely cares about the community he’s part of.

💙Krish Pillai
Standing this year as part of the team, Krish brings real-world business experience and a fresh pair of eyes.

He understands the pressures families and local businesses are under right now and wants to bring practical, common-sense thinking into how things are done locally.

Krish is already out meeting residents, listening, and getting stuck in and he’s ready to hit the ground running.

As your local Conservative Team we are out every day, speaking to residents, listening, and working hard and we’d love your support to keep doing that after May too.

If you see us out and about, do stop and say hello 👋 (we’re always up for a chat… and occasionally a moan about potholes 😅)

GUESS WHAT, DEAR RESIDENTS 😊
I come bearing good news 😀

Finally, three planning applications for play parks in Tattenhoe Park have been submitted. These are full planning applications, which means they set out the exact design and layout of the play areas.
If approved, they are given permission for the works to go ahead.

I am very, very, very excited for our younger residents. 😍
I believe there is one more play area coming, but I need to double-check that. But for now here’s a simple breakdown of what’s being proposed 👇

🛝 Local Play Area 1 – Twain Way
📍 TWAIN WAY, TATTENHOE PARK, MK4 4SW
📄 Planning ref: PLN/2026/0510
Smaller, local play area
Swings (including baby swing), slide, trampoline and sensory play
New footpath + small footbridge connecting to Woolfe Grove
Seating, fencing and planting
👉 Likely to be more of a neighbourhood “pop in” play space
Link to application: https://www.be.milton-keynes.gov.uk/.../a0lWS000003teXl...

🌳 Local Play Area 2 – Potter Lane
📍 POTTER LANE, TATTENHOE PARK, MK4 4SU
📄 Planning ref: PLN/2026/0511
Largest of the three
Around 15 pieces of equipment (climbing, swings, balance play)
Includes:
Parent & toddler swing 👶
Toddler (cradle seat) swings 👶
New and improved footpath connections
48 new trees and planting
👉 This will be the main play hub for families
Link to application:
https://www.be.milton-keynes.gov.uk/.../a0lWS000003tY11...

🌿 Local Play Area 3 – Jerome Way (near the pond)
THIS IS THE ONE COMING NEAR THE SUPER-SIZED WASTE TIP) 😕
📍 LAND SE OF TWAIN WAY & JEROME WAY
📄 Planning ref: PLN/2026/0536
Play area + picnic/seating space overlooking the pond
Swings, tower, obstacle play and sensory equipment
Toddler swing provision 👶
Designed as more of a family space to sit, relax and spend time
26 new trees and planting
👉 A mix of play + somewhere to actually stay and enjoy the space

Link to application:
https://www.be.milton-keynes.gov.uk/.../a0lWS000003uSHd...

🌳 All three will be maintained by The Parks Trust once completed
and it seems like they are spread across the area so most residents are within walking distance of the three.

👶 For those residents who asked me about baby swings
Yessss — toddler/baby swings are included, in the larger Potter Lane site and the Jerome Way site.

💭 Your views truly matter to shape this:
If you’ve got ideas, suggestions or concerns, I’d really love to hear from you. I'll also share a bit more detail soon once I've had a bit of time to read all the papers on the portal.

Hello everyone 😀

You’ve probably guessed… there’s a local election coming up 🗳️your letterbox might have given it away 📬😀

We’ve been out delivering (quite a few!)
and chatting to so many of you along the way.

In Tattenhoe (and across MK), only around 30% of people usually vote, so we really think it’s worth the extra nudge.

If you see us, do stop and say hi — always up for a chat and happy to pick up any issues 😊

Less than three weeks to go… 🗳️

⚠️Updates on Potholes in Oxley Park, Tattenhoe, Hayton Way and Kingsmead⚠️

🛑Whitney Roundabout🛑
It’s great to see the potholes on Whitney Roundabout getting done.. FINALLY!!!

It’s only taken over a year 🤓but we’ll take it even though getting these fixed should have never taken so long. Appreciate all of our residents patience on this. 🙏

🛑Picton Street 🛑
Received an update on this from MKCC⬇️.

“No date yet for Picton repairs although the job has been raised.

Due to the very wet weather through Feb/Mar a lot of surfacing work was affected so we are expecting jobs to be delayed by 1-2 months.

The permit will go up on One.Network once approved. It will need a closure as the potholes are in the middle of the carriageway.”

🛑Hartland Avenue (near Stolford Rise) potholes have been reported

🛑Holborn Crescent entrance from V1 also reported

🛑Kingsmead Roundabout entrance to Hayton Way all reported

I haven’t received updates on any of these. But will keep chasing and share anything as soon as we hear back.

If there’s anything you would like us to chase please drop us an email. 🙂
