Age UK Milton Keynes

Age UK Milton Keynes We are a local, independent charity supporting older people in Milton Keynes. We operate as an incorporated charity with our own charity number 1079773.

Our Charity:

We provide support and services that make a real and positive difference to older people, particularly to the most vulnerable and isolated people in our community. We are proud to be affiliated to the nationally prominent, campaigning charity Age UK, but we are an independent charity and rely on the income from our shops and fundraising by kind supporters to keep going. No longer Age

Concern:

On Tuesday 1st June 2010 we changed our name to Age UK Milton Keynes, having joined the Age UK partnership formed from the merger of Age Concern and Help the Aged. We continue to share the same values, standards and overall aim: to help all older people make more of life. We have been working with local people since June 1978 and for every Β£1 given to the charity, we spend 90p directly on the crucial help we provide. Accountable and cost-effective:

We aim to be accountable for the funds we use, cost-effective in carrying out our role, professional in the way we work and transparent in all our activities. Every year we help over 10,000 people in Milton Keynes and surrounding villages. Monitored and evaluated:

We carry out documented annual performance reviews of all our services, including periodic independent evaluations. Our services and activities are measured against internal Age UK and external quality standards, including Quality Counts, CSCI and Foundations. Net income achievements are measured against budgets and retail outlet targets are set annually. General information:

Our registered charity number is 1079773 and we are registered as a company limited by guarantee 3897291 (Cardiff). Our registered office is at The Peartree Centre, 1 Chadds Lane, Peartree Bridge, Milton Keynes MK6 3EB. Working with Age UK:

Age UK influences national and local government and the media. The charity seeks out new and innovative ways to make a difference nationally to the lives of older people. We also make a difference by helping to shape policy, for example by backing national campaigns on age discrimination and pensions, or by campaigning locally. We are a member of the Age England Association (which replaced the Age Concern Federation on 1st April 2011), which campaigns on behalf of older people nationally. The Association and the Age UK partnership provide vital services that help with daily living as well as researching the needs and opinions of older people. Working in partnership:

We also work in partnership with other organisation such as Milton Keynes Council, the Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust and the Milton Keynes NHS Foundation Trust to try to make sure that local services meet the needs of local older people. Administration office:

Our main administration office and many of our services are based at our registered office: The Peartree Centre, 1 Chadds Lane, Peartree Bridge, Milton Keynes MK6 3EB. Tel: 01908 550700. Age UK Milton Keynes is an appointed representative of Age UK Enterprises Limited which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority for insurance mediation. FSA register number 311438.

Are you an unpaid carer of someone over the age of 65?

As part of the Milton Keynes Carers Hub we are the specialist provider for support to unpaid carers of older people over the age of 65 within the Milton Keynes area. Carers will receive guidance, resources and the support necessary to manage their caring responsibilities effectively, while maintaining their well-being.

We support all adult carers of an older person either face to face, over the phone, online or in a group setting. We want to ensure that carers who are caring for a family member, loved one, friend or neighbour who are a resident of Milton Keynes, are supported to maintain a positive sense of their own health and wellbeing and able to continue in their caring role in a way that is safe for them.

Yesterday, we had a really positive first meeting with Hannah Bladen at the MK Dons Community Trust to explore ideas and opportunities for our charities to work together.

We are looking forward to building a strong partnership that will benefit both organisations and, most importantly, the people and communities we support across Milton Keynes.

Exciting times ahead! πŸ€πŸ’™

IT'S COMING HOME!!! βš½πŸ†πŸ”πŸ»

Our Wednesday Lunch Club was in full World Cup fever mode today!

Members enjoyed a good old-fashioned BBQ and a beer while taking part in an exciting penalty shoot-out competition. There were some serious footy skills on show, plenty of friendly rivalry and, most importantly, lots of laughter and smiles all around.

Days like these are a great way to bring people together, build friendships and encourage everyone to stay active, social and connected while having fun.

🧑 TOGETHER BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY 🧑

We're delighted to be working in partnership with Jewson Milton Keynes to help raise awareness of the support and services Age UK Milton Keynes provides to older people across our community.

We will be attending the Jewson Milton Keynes branch on the last Friday of every month, with our first visit taking place on Friday 31st July 2026.

If you're visiting the branch, please come and say hello and support us by:

πŸͺ™ Making a donation

πŸ“„ Taking away information about our services

πŸ“£ Helping us spread the word

πŸͺ£ Dropping any old or spare coins into one of our donation buckets

Many of us have jars, bags or drawers full of coins tucked away at home. Those small amounts can make a huge difference and help us continue supporting older people across Milton Keynes.

We're extremely proud to be supported by Jewson Milton Keynes and are looking forward to building a stronger community together.

Thank you to everyone involved for helping us change how we age. 🧑
