MAKE MAKE is the Milton Keynes Cultural Education Partnership.

It is a collective of teachers, artists and cultural organisations that are driven to nourish the creative and cultural wellbeing of young people. Back in 2013 Arts Council England (ACE) became concerned about the dwindling commitment to include cultural education in the curriculum. Not only does every child have the right to experience arts and culture, but the benefits of taking part in cultura

l activity impact on mental and physical well-being, provide new perspectives on the world, and increase transferrable skills such as communication and creative thinking. As a response to this crisis, ACE supported Bridge organisations to launch Cultural Education Partnerships in different localities to address the cultural education needs specific to that area. From that initiative Artswork, the Bridge organisation for the South East, supported the development of MAKE.

Deadline extension for this fabulous opportunity from Westbury Arts Centre !

To accommodate the school breaks and allowing some of the students their time to create new and exciting artworks we will be extending the deadline for both of the Young Artist Competitions to the 4th April.

Teachers from all schools within Milton Keynes can enter 10 of their students, to encourage their creativity and give them confidence in seeing their work exhibited professionally at a show that is open to the public, and potentially win a private tuition session with a resident artist from Westbury Arts Centre. The school attended by the overall winner will receive a Β£250 voucher for art materials.

β€œThe competition is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their work, develop confidence, and gain recognition. It also encourages creativity and provides inspiration for others.” Secondary school teacher
