Milton Keynes Hospital Charity We make a real difference to the experience of patients, their families, and the staff who care for them at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

Milton Keynes Hospital Charity is the official charity for Milton Keynes University Hospital. We fundraise for all wards and departments, helping to improve the experience of our patients and their families - from our youngest patients on the Neonatal Unit, to older patients on wards such as our Stroke Unit. By supporting the Milton Keynes Hospital Charity you can make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people in and around Milton Keynes, when they need it most. All the money we raise funds items that go above and beyond what the NHS provides and we cannot do this without your help. Milton Keynes Hospital Charity aims to make a real and tangible difference within the local community, so if you'd like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you.

🏃‍♂️ Go Judith Go! 🏃‍♂️

Tomorrow, our incredible fundraiser and dedicated Milton Keynes Hospital Charity volunteer, Judith, takes on the final challenge in her amazing four-event fundraising journey... the Great South 10 Mile Run! 🏃‍♀

Over the past year, alongside hosting her popular and delicious bake sales in the hospital's Main Entrance, with star baker Jacqueline, Judith has pushed herself through an incredible series of challenges, including:

🏃‍♂️ A tough 15.5 mile trail enduro race around the hills of Sheffield
🏊 A continuous 3km open water swim at Dock2Dock in London Docklands
🏊 🚴 A Sprint Aquabike at the Milton Keynes Triathlon, combining a 750m swim and 20km cycle
🏃‍♂️Tomorrow's Great South 10 Mile, her final event of the challenge

As a volunteer at Milton Keynes University Hospital, Judith sees first-hand the difference charitable donations make to local patients and families.

Together, through challenge events, bake sales and plenty of determination, Judith has now raised an incredible £1,000 for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity. 💚

This evening, we join MKUH in remembering and honouring babies lost before, during, or after birth as part of the Wave of Light.

At Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, we are incredibly grateful to our supporters whose generosity helps provide comfort and create lasting memories for bereaved families cared for by our Baby Bereavement Team.

Thanks to charitable donations, we have been able to fund items and projects including memory-making frames and alginate kits for hand and footprints, a laser engraver to create treasured keepsakes, refreshments for the Forget Me Not Garden remembrance service, and enhancements to the Forget Me Not Garden itself, including its beautiful water feature. These special touches help provide comfort, reflection and precious memories for families during the most difficult of times.

Thank you to everyone who has supported these projects and helped ensure bereaved parents and families receive compassionate support when they need it most.

Helping our young patients at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust feel prepared, informed and less anxious

Thanks to funding from Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, children coming to MKUH for elective surgery and MRI scans can now access the Little Journey app.

Designed to help children and families prepare for hospital visits, the app brings together important information, virtual hospital tours, videos, relaxation activities and therapeutic games in one easy-to-access place. It helps children understand what to expect and reduces anxiety before procedures.

We're already hearing wonderful feedback from families:

"The app was really good; it really helped ease anxiety around the procedure. My daughter enjoyed using the app so much that she continued to play on it after the procedure, taking advantage of the games."

"The hospital tour gave a really nice, gentle introduction to what to expect. My child eagerly looked for each section before surgery."

And another parent told us:

"The app meant my child was excited about the visit today and had no anxiety at all."

🌟 Launching our 2026 Christmas Stars Appeal 🌟

This Christmas, you can help light up Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and bring comfort, joy and support to patients and families spending the festive season in hospital.

We're inviting local individuals, community groups, schools and businesses to adopt one of our 15 Shining Stars for £400.

Your star will be displayed on the front of the hospital's Main Entrance with a personalised name tag celebrating your support, creating a wonderful festive display for everyone visiting the hospital.

Your donations could help support the provision of Christmas gifts for patients and specialist items that support people living with dementia, including activity books, reminiscence resources, bedside tablets, calming digital aquariums and robotic companion pets.

It’s Play in Healthcare Week!

Meet Laura and Sorrell from our fantastic Play Team, who have set up a stall in the Main Entrance to showcase the incredible difference play makes for children and young people during their hospital stay at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

From reducing anxiety and supporting treatments to providing comfort, distraction and moments of joy, therapeutic play is a vital part of children's healthcare.
