MEETINGS - week commencing 15/6/26

Each week, we publish when and where our meetings are in Milton Keynes, Bedford and Leighton Buzzard - please feel free to come along to meet others in a similar situation where you can get support for yourself, in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. All our meetings are hosted by our amazing volunteers, who each have their own lived experience.

These meetings are support for anyone who is 18+ and is affected by a loved one’s addiction (parents/partners/friends/grandparents/siblings etc.)

Meetings are free to attend but voluntary donations towards refreshments are welcomed.

DAFS are unable to support people who are themselves suffering from addiction.

We look forward to welcoming any new
attendees, with DAFS you are not alone!

If you have any questions please contact us on [email protected] and somebody will get back to you🌼

Wednesday 17th June we have a face to face meeting at the Community Room, Morrisons, Westcroft (7:30-9pm)

Please share, share, share this as we need society to better understand that ADDICTION is not a CHOICE (nor a parenting failure) 💛

This is an excerpt from another support group, written by Lorelie Rozzano:

Addiction is not a simple choice. If it were, every mother who has cried herself to sleep, prayed through the night, waited for the phone to ring, searched for answers, set boundaries with a broken heart, and begged the universe to keep her child alive would have ended it by now.

No family wants to watch someone they love disappear into addiction.

Behind every person struggling, there is a family aching, hoping, learning, and loving from the hardest place imaginable.

We need less judgment and more understanding.

Less shame and more support.

Less blame and more education.

Addiction is already heartbreaking enough.

Families don't need fingers pointed at them — they need hope, help, and healing.

Compassion may not cure addiction, but it sure can help the people living beside it.

Because no family should have to carry their pain alone.

Addiction is not a simple choice. If it were, every mother who has cried herself to sleep, prayed through the night, waited for the phone to ring, searched for answers, set boundaries with a broken heart, and begged the universe to keep her child alive would have ended it by now.
