Future Wolverton is pleased to announce that the Old School in Old Wolverton has been successfully sold to Wolverton & Greenleys Town Council, thereby ensuring the building remains in community use.
Future Wolverton purchased the building in 2017 from The Radcliffe Trust, raising over
£1 million to bring the building back into use. The Old School opened to the public in
2018, providing a community hall and community café, alongside a Guest House for visitors to Milton Keynes.
The Old School has successfully operated for over 9 years, providing a wealth of
community activities and has also been the location for Future Wolverton’s successful
work-related learning programme for young people who struggle in mainstream education, with over 60% of those supported returning to full-time education or getting paid employment.
Future Wolverton made the decision to sell the building in February 2026, moving
operations to Market Hall on Glyn Square in Wolverton Town Centre.
Marie Osborne, CEO of Future Wolverton:
“We are very sad to have to sell the Old School, our first asset, and one which has
meant so much to us all and the local community, but our move to Market Hall enables us to expand and develop our services for the local community, and to develop our learning programme for young people. We were delighted to be able to celebrate all that has been achieved in the last 9 years with our members and supporters at a special event on the 18th July, at which people spoke about how much the project has meant to them. We look forward to welcoming the local community to Market Hall when we open our doors to the public in September.”
Andrea Vincent MBE, Clerk to Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council said:
“Thank you to Future Wolverton and the wider community volunteers for the work they have done so far to restore the Old School House building. It has become a valued community asset. Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council is committed to maintaining and building on that legacy, ensuring the building remains a vibrant community resource for local residents for years to come.“
Future Wolverton looks forward to welcoming the local community to Market Hall in September 2026.
