🍽️ Flavours Beyond Borders – Session Two
Today we had the pleasure of hosting the second Flavours Beyond Borders session, bringing together a wonderful group of Arab and Afghan women for an afternoon of cooking, conversation, and cultural exchange.
Together, we prepared Harraq Osba’o (حراق إصبعه), a delicious traditional Arab dish, alongside Bolani, one of Afghanistan’s most loved traditional foods.
As we cooked side by side, we shared stories, exchanged recipes, learned about each other’s traditions, and discovered the cultural significance behind each dish. Once everything was ready, we gathered around the table to enjoy the food together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
More than just a cooking session, Flavours Beyond Borders creates opportunities for people from different backgrounds to meet, build friendships, and feel part of their local community. By sharing food and stories, we help reduce social isolation, encourage meaningful conversations, and strengthen understanding between cultures. Every shared meal becomes a step towards a more connected, inclusive, and welcoming community.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and made today’s session so enjoyable and memorable. We look forward to welcoming even more communities and celebrating many more cultures around the same table.
