Good Afternoon All.
The following is a bit of an anomaly but not unprecedented in our history. We need your help.
When the name of the charity was decided upon back in 2022, it was intended to allow us flexibility of remit as time passed, to do things outside of the food bank.
When we started officially as a charity back in June 2022, our very first project was raising and distributing over £11,000 to those affected by the terrible fire in Walnut Tree.
The following appeal falls outside of our charity remit and as I did a few years ago, this page is just being used to allow me the reach to appeal to our fantastic community, who we have been able to call upon in the past with such great success.
To be absolutely clear this is a personal appeal outside of the WCSP to help a student at Walton High be able to get to school each day.
The student lives outside of catchment and has an unenviable bike ride to get to school each day.
Earlier today I collected the students very broken bike from their home and delivered it to Cycle Saviours, they took one look at it and said it was going to need significant work to repair,
They said the bike itself was quite a good one and probably worth repairing, but the family simply can't afford the sort of sum involved which was estimated as at least £150, it may be more as this was an estimate at a glance.
The chain is in pieces, the rear tyre is worn and some other technical sounding piece was totally missing, something to do with the gears I think.
Because this is not an official charity request any donations would be direct to me to be passed on to Cycle Saviours and evidence of this will be happily provided on here once the work is completed.
Anything in excess of the total bill will be utilised to provide spare parts, to provide some security in the future, things such as a spare tyre, bell if needed and puncture repair kit, it could also do with some mudguards.
Just to reiterate, this is not WCSP business, this is a one off, the same situation as when I raised some money to help someone get their dog back after it had had to go to the vets and couldn't afford the bill.
I am happy to answer any questions, as I do appreciate in this day and age that everyone should be alert to scams.
I have allocated a specific bank account to this ( as I did with the vet collection) so that I can share images of donations on here for verification purposes and show proof of the payment to Cycle Saviours when it happens.

I totally understand that there always seems to be someone after something, so please don't worry if this isn't something you want to donate to, we all have different priorities.
